Crack in ball valve

Need a little clarification. The ball valve in my Dometic 310 toilet has somehow developed a crack and no longer holds water. I called Dometic and was told the ball cannot be replaced, and that the whole toilet must be replaced. I am having trouble believing that. Can anyone shed a little light here?
Thanks

The ball can not be replaced... Since when.

The link below is NOT a recommendation. just the part number
You can likely find it for less.. I googled Dometic ball valve
I HAVE INSTALLED ONE OF THESE so I know they exist.

The part you need at boat and RV accessories

ALso are you sure it is cracked? THe seal often needs cleaning on these turkeys.

Way off base and posting incorrect information.
Ball valve kits are availble for SOME dometic toilets.

OP has a 310 model.....your LINK is for a ball valve kit BUT not for OPs model
The 300/310/320 models do not have replacement ball valves/kits
Bowl/base are factory sealed (Glued together) and no access to ball vlave assembly----even if one was to separate the bowl/base there is no part number for the ball valve assembly

One needs to pay attention to MODEL numbers before ordering just any Dometic Toilet Part.

Dometic 300 Series Parts....no ball valve

The 310 is a different animal than the old designs. The link you provide is for the old style and will not fit the 310. The only things good about the 310 series is that they are cheap and the inner rubber seal can be easily replaced without taking the toilet apart, which you can't anyway.

Is this issue with the cracked ball valve being irreplaceable true to all Dometic toilets? Are there other brands that are made better and are serviceable. The Dometic toilet(don't remember model number) in my rv was and still is problematic since new. The water valve stuck open once and flooded the bathroom area once. I twisted Dometic's arm for a new original cheapo plastic valve because the toilet was almost new at the time. Then the seal on the bowl decided to not hold water every now and then. I purchased a new Dometic seal and I'm thinking it was around $30. It works better now but I'm not holding my breath!

Depends on how handy you are and adventurous. Since you are going to throw this away anyhow I'd try emptying the tank. Flush the crack out with alcohol, use a syringe. Inject epoxy into the crack and allow to cure. Be careful and do not allow epoxy to get all over everything down there. Once again I'd use a syringe carefully. Do it in stages if you have to. If you get wet epoxy outside the crack wipe it off right away and wipe the area with alcohol or acetone, careful with acetone tho.

โ€œWhat were they thinking?โ€

That they didnโ€™t want to be in the toilet replacement parts business.

I'm so thankful to learn this now. I've been looking at these for a couple of years thinking the steep sides were ideal. I never found one in bone for a price I was willing to pay so I kept passing them by. Now, I'm happy I never bought one. What were they thinking?

This is true for the 310. You can get the seal but not the Ball mechanism. Doug

YEP....absolutely TRUE

Bowl and base are factory sealed so no acess to ball valve

The 300 series toilets are throw aways.
*a few parts can be replaced -- bowl seal, water valve, floor flange, seat
But when it comes to ball valve --- NOPE!

I know the gaskets can be replaced, I've done that a few times. In my parts search for the gaskets, I don't recall ever seeing the ball as an available part. I have to admit, that I was focused on the gaskets, so I could be wrong....
