2000 Minnie Winnie 30'

Staying at friends with 30A-cable plugged into reg wall outlet.

Started the AC unit w/o thinking and it ran for a few mins and then stopped. Made some strange noise.

Havent been to 30A service to try it yet.

Thanks,

The fan for the AC unit is working well. So i was wrong abt the htg/cooling controls just handling the furnace blower.

Also...here's a related question. Even with the heating furnace sys off and the AC not turned on etc....the furnace fan will just come on for a few minutes and then stop. Does it consistently but doesn't stay on long.

Now since the water compartments are heated, I thght it was somehow knowing to circulate air there.

But maybe it's a safety feature to insure venting of gases?

Havent called Winnebago yet to ask them

NO RV has a system to circulate air in the basement at odd times or even as a safety feature. There should be NO gases at anytime in the basement. The furnace fan should never do what you state it does. From your description, it seems like the Hi limit switch is activating, but I have never seen one do that. Depending on the brand/model furnace, the fan relay may be acting up. Does the furnace ever light the burner when it does this? Are you positive it is NOT the Converter cooling fan coming on and off? Glad it was just a blown fuse.......

And 'fan' control on t-stat is strictly for A/C Unit fan.

Furnace fan will only run when 'heat' is selected and t-stat set for temp higher than room temp
(A/C Fan will run with furnace if fan control is 'run' position vs 'auto')

thanks OB - That covers it then.

I rem a graph type deal in the owners manual showing what runs when. Gonna look at it again.

Like I tell folks - When all else fails, read the manuals!

Thanks all for your help.

Is it time for your medication or mine?

pt/PP/wt -

contril unit is Coleman Mach:

System settings are like this on the unit:

Cool
Fan
OFF
Heat

Fan settings are ;

Low - Auto
High - Auto
Low - Run
High - Run

Fan controls only ran the furnace fan if I rem correctly.

Do have generator to try it with. Didn't stink of that HA!.

Knew the brain trust wld come thru...as usual.

BTW, left ANC in Oct...abt 6k-miles later in Ga. Nary a problem with the 2000 Minnie Winnie. Even the tires.

Hi,

Worst case the windings on the motor have burned out due to low voltage causing the unit to draw too many amps.

Try it on fan only and see what happens.

Doubt you damaged it...probably it just shut itself down (self protection.)
