Drinking water hose

Been fulltiming for 9 yrs and been using the white drinking water hose that most of us use. What a pain!! Just try to roll it up to store away. You know the problem.. Tried the type hose that extends with the psi of the water and then shrinks after the water is turned off. Worked well until blow out in a month. You guys got any suggestions for Drinking water hose?

I have just this year, after fifteen years of RV'ing switch to 25 foot long hoses.
I am keeping four of them with me.
Much easier to roll up a 25 footer then a fifty, and if I need longer, I just connect two together.

X2, there are good quality white RV hoses, but they are not cheap. Expect to pay 30 or 40 bucks for a good one. I bought a couple of the cheap hoses from WalMart and they're total junk and kink at every opportunity. I like some of the new ideas posted above and might try one of them out.

Some of us aren't - "most", LOL!

Purchase a *quality* hose from these folks - available in lots of lengths. Couplings are *spectacular* (brass or stainless).

Scroll down the left side to "Custom Quality Hoses"

They are!
Once you've tried one of their hoses - you will understand why the rest are junk!.:W

On edit: I see "accsys" already offered the same advice / suggestion.
So, I'll add: Quick delivery!

I have 3 hoses, 10', 20', and 50'. I use the shortest one I can, usually the 10' one. Easy to roll up and drain. The 20' is pretty easy too. Rarely do I have to use the 50'. I keep them all rolled up with the ends of each hose connected so they are each sealed, in a tub.

I would stick with the white hose.. If it's hard to roll up warm it up a bit (Run hot water through it if you have to.

Also, a hose reel makes it easier to roll and unroll.

I have seen several hoses of different colors all claiming to be fine for drinking water. I mean, they put a blue streak on standard RV water hoses.

I believe that white hoses were originally designated as safe to drink from due to being free of lead... (although I have drank from many garden hoses years ago...)

If the hose is not white, I would read the label to see if it states that it is safe for drinking water, if not, well... Convenience or health, your choice. (Occasionally drinking would probably not be a problem, although lead does typically stay in the body and build up over time. When will your body hit the amount to cause brain/nerve damage, is the question...)
Inquiring minds want to know...

sure. I have two 10-ft lengths of white drinking water hose and another 25-ft length on a hand-held reel. 8 times outta 10 I can hook up to the fresh water spigot with a single 10-ft length. if that's not enough then I add the second 10-ft length. only rarely do I need the 25-ft reel. but when I do the hose rolls up quite easily on the reel.

basically what I do. did buy a long non-kink hose also.

You can avoid the mess and the kinking of both hoses and cables by using this method.

The RV Water Filter Store is the go to place for everything concerning hooking up to water. They have the Watts pressure regulators as well a some great hoses that will last and work like you want them to. Under the Systems and Components menu on the left side you will find the link for Custom Quality Hoses. Their hoses are not cheap but are worth the money in the end.
