If you buy a 7300 it will cost as much as a better-optioned 3-stage converter. One of the replacements is an Ultra 111 , which is a WFCO, which many here have had no luck with getting it to do all three stages. Stay away.
Best bet is one of the "lower portion" replacements by PowerMax or PD. Or you could get an Iota deck mount. Parallax has a whole newer line of converters that have several good features, but they tend to cost more than most.
No sense paying for features you will not use.

Is the 6345 RU a three stage converter? If not, don't buy it.

But even that wont do much for that converter. Before you spend a dime trying to correct the output you should just scrap it and get a modern 3 stage converter.

I recomment the Progressive Dynamics 4600 series, I think they do make a 4645, from Best Converters (or best converter, one is an audio store, the other RV store) you need to add one jumper wire.
The Magnetek 6300 is a feroresonnant converter, no voltage regulation to speak of, it is widly known as a battery killer and rellly needs an upgrade. It also does not work withotu a battery.
The lights, water pump and loads of that type do not mind unfiltered DC, radios and thigns that need FILTERED DC hook to the battery side of the converter and the Battery acts as a filter.... So you do not need a filter, Just a battery, and you will need a new battery often with that convwerter.
So Upgrade. 2 batteries = a Progressive Dynamics 4600 and change, lots of change.

But the overwhelming opinion is that the Magnetec should be changed out for a 3 stage (at least).

That 6300 filtering by the battery is normal so not a problem. (The 7300 is the newer technology that means converters no longer need a battery to filter their DC)
If it is a different filtering issue from that normal 6300 one, somebody else will have to help here.

Also, if you have 6VAC riding on the DC output, chances are that the converter is now failing or will fairly soon.
