Fridge issue

Dry camping this weekend at Martinsville Speedway. Went to turn the fridge on, no 12v power (no control, no fridge light). Did a little poking around the back of the unit testing voltage and found 12v power coming in (goes to a plastic box with the +/- coming in).

From the output side of said plastic box the + side goes to a (please excuse my terminology) metal can on the right side with a plug looking device riveted into it. From there the wire comes back out and goes to the mother board. Where it plugs into the board there is no 12v, however where it plugs into the metal can there is 12v power.

So, I bypassed the plug looking thing on the metal can and ran the + side directly to the mother board, now I have power to the fridge, it will run on generator power. Here's the issue, when I switch the fridge to gas the flame comes out like your holding your finger on a lighter, not jetting out like it should.

I'm guessing the issue is with the (plug) on the metal can??? Does anyone know what that part is? Or have any idea what I'm talking about?

Thermal cutout disc....red wires Dometic Recall to trip DC power to fridge if high temp sensed due to cracked boiler tube. It is a safety device and if tripping you should check for yellow residue around burner area...

IF with a proper flame fridge will not cool down (or even on electric) if cooling unit is cracked/leaked.
So bypassing the Thermal Cutout could be dangerous due to overheating

Dometic RV Fridge Flame.....they are NOT big roaring flames. MAIN Flame is small....no pilot flame used

Top one is dirty burner-------bottom one is after cleaning
Is it time for your medication or mine?

It doesn't put out a large flame like a water heater or other appliance. It's just a small pilot light size flame.

That switch is a overheat SAFETY switch and both Norcold and Dometic models use it. It has nothing to do with the LP flame. You probably have a dirty LP orifice or burner OR your LP gas pressure is low. DO NOT OPERATE ON LP UNTIL THAT IS FIXED. Doug

You might start with brand and model number of refrigerator. We can't see what you see.

No make or model of fridge ???
That's usually needed info for trouble shooting.

If this helps: I've been looking around the web I believe the part going into the metal can is a LIMIT SWITCH? The 12v power is not going through the switch??
