To bring the temperature down in the fridge do I move the sensor up or down on the evaporator? Logic say higher to read the higher temps.

You hit it on the head. I put the thermistor back in place yesterday and the fridge is 35 degrees today. There is a chance that it fell out on the trails on the way in and has been short cycling since.
Thank you for the help all.

IF thermistor is not in clip and on fin then the thermostat MAY run fridge continuously or MAY short cycle.

I started it up yesterday in the storage lot thinking that it would be nice and cool when I checked it today. Instead it said 56 f and I found that the thermistor had come out of the holder that keeps it right near the fins. I can't imagine it being warmer right near the fins but that may not be how it works. We are giving it another day. The freezer was well below freezing but not 0*.
I did look up the stack during the trip and could see the light through the vent screen. I'll check from up top tomorrow.

Old B. Between us being here a while, the cooler and some stuff getting tossed, the fridge is no longer overloaded.
2old, there is only a sticker indicating where the thermistor goes.
Gm, a generous thought but we don't see many big rigs this far in, mostly 4x4 and ATV's.

Yikes! Any big motor homes around that might have residential fridges with abundant/overflowing ice cube compartments? (We always give our ice-maker output away to tenters.)

We have been so spoiled with shorter trips that we over bought for an extended one. Next time I will bring the mini fridge too. It may be a power pig but we that's the one thing we have to spare. Until then it's 24 miles round trip for ice every few days.

Up--but it doesn't make a heck of a difference in mine. I finally added interior fans and that has helped immensely, especially with initial cool down time.
My ride is a 28 foot Class C, 256 watts solar, 556 amp-hours of Telcom jars, 3000 watt Magnum hybrid inverter, Sola Basic Autoformer, Microair Easy Start.
