Help: winegard pathway x1

Had this setup for a few years and has always worked well. Now it will not find a signal. I have tried a different coax cable, other TV, so the only thing left is the receiver, which I can see the โ€œacquiring signalโ€ on the screen so I doubt it is the receiver. But the winegard itself doesnโ€™t make the noise it use to. I remember when it was acquiring signal you could hear it making noise inside. Like it was moving around searching for signal. Now nothing, no noise at all. Any ideas?? Thanks all

The tech told me sometimes the motor will get stuck. (?)
He said pull the cover and see if I could get it started.

If you're not hearing the antenna buzzing and clicking as it attempts to locate the satellites, there's something wrong with it. It could be it's not getting power through the cord. If you can find another receiver to test it with a different (short) cord right at the dish, you'll have eliminated a lot of troubleshooting steps.

While I was troubleshooting mine (based on information I got in emails from Winegard's tech support), I had the cover off and testing for voltage on the circuit boards. They will guide you through it.

Or try a different box and cable.

What does the startup screen say?

I have tried different coax and tv. When I turn on the receiver I get the โ€œacquiring signalโ€ this be no more then 5 min. After about 15 min of the same screen with no green bars going across the screen I get the... I forgot exact words but the one that says no signal found, check line of sight. Make sure nothing blocking view. I have moved the winegard to 2-3 different locations with wide open view of the SW sky.

10-4. I will call them Monday thanks! And yes, repairing a CB even at that level is very rare.

Winegard will work with you to diagnose the problem via email from their website. I had to send my CarryOut back to them for repair - they will not sell you any parts.

I was in the local UPS store and asked what it would cost to send a 2 cu ft box to Davenport IA from St Louis. They said $72 as I remember. Next stop was the Post Office where they said $27 for the same box. That's the way I sent it. When it came back it was in box that measured 23"x23"x17" and their cost was $17.

They charge $70 up front for troubleshooting. They'll probably sell you a new cord (they always do). One of the controller boards was bad - they replaced the bad components - cost from them was less than $5. I was amazed someone today actually repairs circuit boards at the component level.
