Honda 2200 inverter discontinued??

Has anybody run across a killer close-out price on a pair of Honda 2200 inverter generators? I'm in the market. The replacement 3000 gennie weighs about 130#. Too much for my tired old bod to lug around.

the 2200i is the new model. The eu2000 the old. I dont think its being discontinued. I have the 2000 and the 3000. Great units.

Here in Canada at least there is a stop sale and recall on EU2200i generators as of Feb 13, 2019. We received notification at the dealership Feb. 14. Serial number range affected (not all units).There is the possibility of a fuel leak at the fuel shut off. No parts available yet. Probably 2 weeks or so......

That notice indicates Honda expects to issue parts and a service bulletin detailing the fix in early March so not long to wait.

It may be unintentional, but so far, this thread seem to be more about instilling falsehoods rather than facts...

Typo....”went” was auto corrected and not caught. Should have been.....2200s “weren’t” around in 2012

That Honda notice dated Feb 12, 2019 does say this is a Safety & Emission Recall.

Not unusual. I work in automotive, first response is "oh cr@p, we gotta limit our exposure and stop shipping and/or stop selling while we figure out what the heck we're going to do to fix this, and how extensive the problem is."

2200s went around in 2012 yet the Honda Repair shop has them all off the shelf as well as others. If I owned a 2200 I wouldn’t rely in the internet but contact Honda direct or an Authorized Honda Repair facility.
