Honda 2K surging/hunting

Due to 2 knee replacements I was unable to crank my 2k for 12 weeks.
Yesterday I cranked it and it continually surged up and down the RPM scale. I shut it down and added a double dose (2oz.) of Sea Foam and started it again. I just let it keep surging out of the econo mode and after about 15 minutes it leveled off and ran perfectly.
Question------------Is it OK to run Sea Foam and Sta-Bil together.
I think Yes.

Marvin,

If you had two total knee replacements done during the same surgery, welcome to my world. (Fifteen years ago at age 57.)

Hope the lifestyle change was for you as great as it was for me!

Rehab was a b..ch! But so worth it!

Many thanks for the informative answers. If I try to crank it after sitting for a couple of weeks I have to yank the cord 5-6 times with the choke on. Could be this nearly 75 year old arm I' m using. :B

Next time you shut it down, drain the carb using the screw on the bottom of the carb.

BTW lots of folks use Seafoam and Sta-Bil in combination. Some gasoline farmers store drums and tanks of it on their gasoline farms.

I had my carb cleaned and have used Ethanol free gas since then. I still add a dab of Seafoam to it.

Honda, Yamaha, Husqvarna and Stihl all recommend that you NOT use the lowest grade, but rather a mid or higher.

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

Mine did the same. I now use premium gas with additive. Runs great now.

I have to do the same thing to my Honda 2KW every now and then. The good Corn Syrup Gasoline we have to use these days is probably the reason.

I use the lowest grade of gasoline - Probably should run high test every now and then... Someone told me a few years back that the AMOCO White gasoline would be good gas to use in small engines??? Don't know if that is still true or not...

I just dump some Sea Foam and Sta-Bil in it when it starts acting up and I good to go here... I have had my Honda 2KW Generator since 2008... Still starts on first or second pull.
