Honda EU 2000i vs Generac iQ2000

This past week I spent at the beach dry camping,the person behind me in a trailer had a running Honda EU 2000i as most of the ones I see,pretty quiet.

As I returned from a walk I saw the person in front of me had one of these.

I did not think it was running,but as I walked near it I realized that it was.WOW that thing was quiet.

When I came home I did a bit of research an found that they both have the same specs but the Generac is a whopping $200 less and is made in Wisconsin.

Has anyone used one of these? If so what do you think.

I was actually thinking of selling off my 2 EU2000's along with the 5 gallon extend run tank and all the caps and lines and cords.. Trading up for a new EU7000 . .they look sweet , and I have a beat on one right around $3400.00

Listen close to the video.... The tech almost stated that is was built in the USA... He caught himself and changed it to... Assembled in the USA.....

I also agree that the Honda does NOT sound like it was on Eco mode.. I run 2 of them together and they seemed a bit quieter than the 1 they ran alone..

Actually The question is about the IQ SERIES not the IX series.
The ** on this spec sheet says " Built in the USA using domestic and foreign parts".

We have the Honda EU 2000 and use it when dry camping. The other important thing to consider besides noise is fuel consumption. I can run up to 12 hours on a gallon of fuel in Eco mode. It would be interesting to see how the Genenac compares.

There's also the Harbor Freight Predator 2200 Watt Generator.

I'm not comparing quality, just showing options. 🙂
