long delay in power start up

Hello. This is my first post. I have a 2002 Fleetwood Discovery. I hope you guys can help. When I hook up to shore power it is taking up to 5 minutes for power to become available inside the coach. the same lag happens when using the generator. Once power becomes available everything seems to work fine. I suspect a faulty switch or time delay relay. Do you all have any idea where to start looking.

Your energy management system is what has the time delay. I would verify that it is set to the correct power level. Control is normally in cabinet above passenger's seat in cabinet.
Verify manufacturer of your EMS system. Could be an Intellitec brand.

A power protector (What many call surge protectors and they truly are) can delay power feed to the Motor home for up to 3 minutes, then in some motor homes the ATS adds additional delay of 1/2 to 1 minute.

It will be a while before I get my Surge Protector hard wired (it is a portable now) I have a mounting point, and know how to do it but have yet to get the cable needed.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

Do you have a built in surge protector with the time delay?
