not getting electrical power into motorhome

when I turn battery disconnect (main) on I do not hear the normal "click" that tells me I have ac current in the motorhome. Inverter signal "waiting for A/C". It does show batteries are fully charged but I only have 12 volt system operating and no electrical power to MH. It is plugged in to 30 amp outlet and I am certain there is power to coach but not certain what the problem is that does not allow the power to reach the coach. Thanks in advance for any help!!!!

Battery disconnect should have nothing to do with your 120 volt AC problem.

X2,

Plus the the contacts in the reels do go bad especially when there is a high current placed across them. When I troubleshoot electrical problems I start where I know there is power and continue down the line until it is gone and then I have found the problem. JMT

Started the genset and have 50 amp power so narrows it down to transfer switch or possible the connection of the power cord on the MH itself. The power reel quit working the last time we departed an rv park in So Dakota so maybe there is a bad connection although I would not think the reel function itself would effect power to the coach. Will also pull the main battery disconnect and jump the wires to eliminate a bad switch. Thanks for all your input. Will keep you informed as to progress.

First check the power receptacle for power. What type of source are you connecting to?
If you are using an adapter, try a different one.
Your transfer switch may have failed. Locate it and check for power coming in on the shore power side.
What happens when you start the genset? If power is good you have isolated the problem to shore power. Could be no power at pedestal, bad adpater if used, transfer switch.

I had the same problem, after 2 hours of tracing the red wire(hot), to find the fuse that I'm sure was blown.
tracked it back to where we heard the clicking for the battery disconnect (under the bed, behind the converter with all the fuses in it.
Removed a piece of plywood under the bed and found 3 fuses next to the box that clicks when you disconnect the house battery. One was blown (5 amp), replaced it and all is good again. Just find where the click is coming from by your converter and search nearby.
Wish we did that before tracing a wire for 2 hours. Saved 2 hours of labor at my local rv repair facility, and learned something along the way.
Good luck, Doug

Our Class A has an Automatic Transfer Switch located in the bedroom closet. We had a similar problem and the switch was bad. Before it was replaced, the technician hit the outside of the box with a hammer and it worked temporarily. Our transfer switch sometimes takes up to 5 minutes to allow shore power to flow.
