Nothing works!

We recently purchased a new Winnebago Vista 35F. We drove it to our warehouse in N. GA. It has been sitting there for approximately 30 days. We plugged it in to our 50 amp plug a couple days ago and now nothing works, either plugged in or by on board generator. No a/c, microwave, refrigerator, tv - nothing. We checked all the breakers, etc. and none were blown. What could be our problem?

Based on what the OP said, it has to be the transfer switch or breaker panel - they're the only things in common with shore power and generator (and the wires themselves).

Some meter reading would be good or at least plug a 120v trouble light into a receptacle to see if that works.

Does the 12V work? Is the converter / charger working?

What did you leave turned on or turned off when you left the RV in the warehouse ?

Does the engine start?
Does the generator start
Start drive engine, wait a few minutes, then start generator
Now check for power

We need more info
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

You need some mode of testing and diagnosing to fix any issues. A handheld meter would verify where and how much power is available. Considering your rig is fairly new, the problem is usually an easy fix but we have no idea what it is at our keyboard.

If you aren't conversant with electrical issues, I'd suggest you call a mobile RV tech to diagnose and fix your problem.

X2. unplug and fire up the genny. if the outlets are now working kill the genny and plug back in. you should hear a 'thump' when you plug in. that's the sound of the transfer switch switching over. default on txfr switch is genny and if no power when plugged in the switch is sticking.

Like Old-Biscuit asked, is there power to the outlet your RV is plugged into?

NO - fix the outlet
YES - is there power power to the main breaker in the RV's distribution panel?

NO - Bad shore cable or bad transfer switch
YES - is there power to any of the other breakers?

NO - Bad main breaker
YES- Trouble shoot each circuit seperately.

What about the batteries ??

If "nothing" works, you lucky. Those are the easiest to find & most times least expensive to fix.
If you can't, call a elec/tech.

This is a typical pedestal wiring for 50A-30A circuits. The 20A circuit is wired the same as the 30A except it being fed by a 20AMP circuit breaker.

This is AC METER CHART showing what you should read around the 50A connection using a standard MULTI-METER in the AC mode.

This is the AC METER CHART for the 30A and 15A/20A meter readings.

You fried everything by using a standard outlet versus an outlet for a RV. The are wired differently. I do not have the schematic but I bet someone will post it soon.

A 120/240 VAC 50 amp RV outlet is wired identically to a standard residential 120/240 VAC 50 amp range outlet. Nothing special...

Warehouse----50A plug

OK
Are the breakers for this plug ON? and you have 120V AC power at this plug?

Hopefully you have a tester to check voltage?
Is it time for your medication or mine?
