NEC Article 690 specifically ALLOWS an inverter to backfeed into the service panel (690.10(C)).

That's exactly what the OP is proposing to do.
If equipment is properly labeled to indicate multiple power sources, this arrangement is acceptable.

use a transfer switch between inverter and existing breaker output to feed existing circuit
