Time to replace A/C

My Brisk Air is now 9 years old and needs to be replaced. My question is if I go to a Brisk Air II will my current Single zone thermostat still work. If I decide to go with another brand, what are the ramifications of installing a different thermostat with the existing low voltage stat wiring?

Finally, what unit looks to be the best 13.5 at this time.

Just to clarify for you. There is no such thing as POS/NEG on 120 volts. There is HOT(black)/Neutral(white) and ground. Doug

When I replaced my Dometic AC on my Class B I went with their high efficiency unit which they do not seem to advertise. It is great and I can run it with my Honda 2000 if needed.

When you replace a Brisk air- you are only replacing the upper unit. The tstat and controls are separate from the upper unit and will work with your new replacement. Doug

I would upgrade to a 15K modern 15's use about the same amount of power and give you more cool. You will need to check but with a single zone odds are fantastic your existing stat will work. however they are not 100%.
