I successfully installed the 50 amp RV outlet in my garage. Thanks to those who had input for me. The best part is; I didn't burn down my house in the process!! My wife was a bit leery though, especially when I told her to have the fire extinguisher ready!

It is not hard to do (Technically) but it's good you figured it out.

It is the 30 amp outlets that give people fits,, They often get done WRONG costing hunderds (if not thousands) to fix the damage done.. But with 50's that's not a problem..
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

:h sm, I wondered about your comment but then saw that you are in California. OP lists NC.

Here in the boonies in IL you don't need permits for such things. I asked the electric company about getting juice to my home build. They said that they install the line on the property and the drop box with meter. And quote, "after that you are on your own."

I could not imagine needing a permit just to install an electrical plug.

OP way to go - piece of cake neh!

Congrats! No rescue squads required! :B

Hmmmmm......are you still going to put the surge protector on first before you plug in? :W:W

Congrats on your achievement, but 50A is simple because it's the same as a newer range (1996 I think, NEC). It's the 30A that gets many people, including some electricians, in trouble.

Just a "heads up" for the less informed.
