I always extract the rocks from our Duratrac tires on exiting gravel roads (we live on a gravel road; I use needle-nosed pliers), because if those things hit the under-wheel wells, they will take the paint right off as effectively as a pellet gun. Or, go through someone's windshield...:E

Now I drive Sprinter and the tall van is noisily.
It is fraction of the noise comparing to vehicles we had 10 years ago, but comparing to latest dually, it does get annoying.
