After posting a few comments on another thread, I decided to start this one under a topic more easily recognized. I also have started a blog at: http://www.tcreviver.com. Okay, MKish, here it is. I'll post to it whenever I get a chance. -Carey

Pics are coming. Been busy trying to fabricate a circle style steel plate system to replace the legs for the jacks. Can't get the camper off because it is a dually.(the tires don't clear the legs/or feet so to speak) Want to make sure this "plate" will displace the weight equally when we jack her up and off the truck. Shouldn't be too hard, hubby owns/runs a machine shop.

I give up, Between work and a hip replacement that still aint right, mine has got to disappear, all original windows are still great shape, including the front, door works but needs a lil work, and the snap n nap has broken welds and the main hinge is seized. Plus I have a good Fantastic that I bought for it. Hate to do it but its to much when I cant be on my feet long enough.

back from Arkansas...

Wow what a trip. We left Thursday night at midnight and drove straight 15 1/2 hours to Alma AR to an RV place called Crabtree RV. Got there about an hour and 1/2 before they closed for the day. The camper is, to say the least, a bit on the rough side, but if you can look past all the interior decor and water damage (with vision) you can't help but fall in love with the darn thing. From the front that looks like the SS Enterprise to the rear, that looks like the back of a garbage truck (open that is) it is a beautifully designed camper. My husband's favorite part is the 1 piece roofing system and mine is the Snap and Nap.

So once there, knowing ahead that the shop down there had to rebuild and extend the front side lifting system to fit around the dually... we thought we were good to go. Well, not so fast. Yes the lifts did stick out far enough for the dually to pass under, but the support legs did not. The tires would have driven right over them and probably tipped the camper. So what to do... what to do. Well a young mechanic down there had the great idea to remove the outside wheels off the dually. Back her up to recieve the camper (on only single tires on each side) raise her back up and place the other 2 tires back on the truck. We will deal with getting her off on a later date. LOL

Trip home was fantastic. We decided to stay 2 night at Devils den in the Ozarks and do some hiking and Crevasse climbing. Damn if almost everything works in the trailer. The question surfaces. What should I keep (if anything) and what to replace? 40 years old is pretty old. Although the stove was never used, so that is definitely a keeper. As far as leaking, the Snap and Nap poured rain in. The reminder of the leaks were in usual place, around the vents. Oh well, total tear out will fix that.

The final 15 hours back to PA were umeventful. The dually was made to haul that thing. Ready for the fun part. I will post pics and plan on creating my own blog. The goal is to create a masterpiece like the one in Reading PA. (which is absolutely beautiful.

about hours west of Chat on hwy 72

Is that one hour or did you forget to put a number of hours?
You can PM me with the town an I can mapquest it.

More pics.... Got the gas system completely hooked up and working, fridge lights perfect and gets cold fast on gas! Furnace pilot assembly needed cleaned out but works great now. Water heater gas valve is junk. The whole thing Is so old I will just use the whole unit from parts camper so now every appliance is from parts camper.
Keep in mind I am not restoring the camper at this point in time just trying to make it usable for a couple trips, it will get restored later. Therefore I'm not wasting time to make everything super pretty just functional and reliable as quickly and inexpensively as possible.
Got a Thetford Campa Potti, inexpensive and has its own tanks, flushes, should do the job. Got a nice shower head/wand at Menards on clearance it has pause button and push button pattern changes. I like it.

Those look great! We are going to gatlinburg an Chattanooga. How far from you is that?

I got work done today! Took water heater out and found rotted wood under it and where tie down anchor is. Knocked it all out, evicted the ants, and replaced the wood. New tie down eye bolt, reseal water heater and reinstalled. Got furnace mounted, just needs gas line plumbed and outside vent attached. And got toilet removed too. I'm a bit behind on taking pics but here's some more...

Oh I agree that the rebuild for 10,500 is gorgeous and I considered calling about it, but alas I want to try a re-build myself. The one in WI for 750 was also an option, but this one in AR just looked really good. (I hope anyways) I will post pics...

Yes Big Blue I agree
Dave's Amerigo is the finest in the country and is a great example of what can be done with these campers.
I thank him for his inspiration !
