2007 Ford f350? Known issues?

I'm looking at a pretty good deal on this. Runs good, low miles. Any known issues with this model? It's a diesel but I'm not sure the engine size yet, they have to call me back

Just because they are on the road don't mean they haven't spent many a paychecks into it to keep it on the road.
That's true, It is also true that they may not have. Whats your point?

My point is that if you win big money in the Lottery a lot then go buy one because you have the kind of luck to find a good one. It's that simple. The odds are against you if you buy a 6.0.
Would love to know where you get your info for that type of statement. Anyway, no point in discussing anything with a known ford basher. You like your Fiat and I like my Ford.

You don't know me well enough to make that statement. I like all trucks including Ford. I just have a preference that I like to drive. Ford as well as Chevy makes a good truck.
As far as where I get my info. It is in the file cabinet beside my desk in my office. Out of the five 6.0's that we have owned or still own (I have one) they have all had the the normal 6.0 issues. We still have 3 of them, one being mine with 200,000 miles on it (20,000 on new motor) one with just shy of 300,000 miles that i need to get in for more injectors and glow plugs and one that has 75,000 miles on it that is a hauler truck. My BIL has one sitting in his driveway now that won't start waiting on me to work on it. So to recap our odds, 0 out of 6 have been good motors. Being I am a know Ford basher I will tell you that I have had to put a (1) turbo on one of our Cummins trucks. That's the only engine trouble we've had out of the Cummins. One of our Cummins is in a F650 dump truck with an Allison Trans.

Next time you're at the Ford dealer check and see how many have the cab off in the service bays. ๐Ÿ™‚

LOL, funny, you don't need to remove the cab to work on a Cummins, lots of spare room!!

Nice photo shop!

I found what I consider to be a good one and I really didn't look that hard. Had a clean OASIS report and I liked the option package and money. Done.

Ford literally built millions of these trucks between 2003-2007, not including cab/chassis combinations. Why don't you share with us what the odds of "winning" the "good one" lottery are.

I had a '03 purchased new. Ford replaced the engine at 32k miles due to leaking bedplate (re-man went in). Same thing w/ 2nd engine, but just a drip---nothing too serious. Added: Banks Monster exhaust, Transferflow replacement tank. 2 inj went at 70K (but 40K on engine). As the years went by: couple more inj went, A/C compressor blew apart, intercooler went, FICM went (repaired via FICM repair--awesome), EGR replaced at my doing, exhaust leak behind turbo (not related to Banks pkg). Had a couple re-flashed done along w/ another repair which I can't think of at the moment. Still had orig starter and alt. All the while, it also had the normal wear and tear items replaced as well. Sadly though, last year it was developing exhaust manifold leaks and box was rusting out pretty good and had to have the A/C system done completely over due to shoddy work 1st time it went. By now it had 160K but could not see putting 5 grand more in it and it being 12 years old. Traded it in for truck in sig. Overall, I was very happy w/ the '03 and truck pulled camper in sig very well. Decent mpgs, nice ride, leather etc. Would have loved to keep it, but not cost effective to do so. New 6.7 is AWESOME!!!!

FWIW, I lost my shirt on trade and saw later via net search, some corner lot dealer had it on his lot for double what I got for it. Anyone that was seriously looking at it would see the box was kaput and needed replacing , manifold cracks were welded before I got rid of it as an attempt to get me thru winter, but no guarantee it would hold up. So if one was serious about it, could talk seller down almost 5 grand right there. But, it's no longer my problem and sad to part with it, but new truck is a beast, just like GM's and Ram's are.

Seriously, as some have posted not all had issues.

Your talking about Larry aka Newsw, I believe.
I still remember him almost betting his life in 2011 that the new Ram SCR would have to run a CP.4 HPFP :B

LOL, that would be the CP3! One of the major factors in my purchase decision :B

Ole NewsW sure was a hoot... He had some pretty good points about the CP.4 Bosch pump...

I never did figure out how he un-blew a head gasket or un-clogged an oil cooler in that blessed 6.0.. I remember reading that post of his.. but I can't find the post in the archives though.

Thanks!

Not that uncommon to pull cabs for serious motor work

Not too bad if you have the tools and the lift.. I mean, why wouldn't you if you had the choice... struggle laying over a fender, damaging body work, destroying your back.

makes perfect sense to me.

Pull the cab in a few hours and save several hours.

Thanks!
