2016 F350 ordering timeframe

I was wondering what the average time frame is for a ordered superduty. I ordered my truck on 6/16/15 and when I checked with the dealership today, he informed me that the truck has not been scheduled yet. When I ordered the truck I was told that there wasn't any parts shortages that would delay the build. It has been a little over 8 weeks and I got nothing. i ordered a f350 crew cab shortbed 6.2 gas with 4.30 axle to tow my new fifthwheel. I am getting very frustrated and I'm thinking that maybe I should look at other options. Thank you in advance

My Ford ordered over ten years ago and Ram ordered last year arrived as expected. My guess is that your dealer missed the cutoff to order 2015 models and yours was delayed while tooling was reconfigured for the 2016's. Although I have read posts where people follow their build daily, I just wanted a date when the build was expected to start and when the truck would be available for pick up from the dealer (I wasn't going to sit around and watch the water come to boil).

I keep my vehicles longer than the average, so I don't mind waiting to get exactly what I want rather than settle for what is in current inventory. I use more than one vehicle for my daily commute, do not trade in vehicles (sell on my own) and do not make a purchase contingent on a sale, so buying and selling is a relaxed process for me with few time constraints.

I think I would be having a serious talk with that dealer, this is just a lot longer than it should take.

Are you sure they ordered it? I know the dealership and sorry I have no confidence in them. I went there a few years ago for DEF and nobody there knew what it was....I haven't been back there since.

We just picked up our 2016 F350 Diesel truck. Ordered it the beginning of August. About 8 weeks, and exactly what we wanted.

Tomorrow makes 16 weeks and still no truck. It's been in transit for over a month now. I think it is getting a 50 state tour on the way to my dealership.

Hedgehog,

Something just doesn't sound right at all w/ this deal. Perhaps this maybe the new norm, but can't recall trucks taking this long to be built unless super strong orders causing a hellofa delay/backup in timeframe.

At this rate you might have it in time to start plowing that white stuff.

Just a update, I still haven't got my truck that I ordered on June 16. The dealer says the eta is 9/29 but ford customer service says the eta is 10/12. I will never do this again. I can't believe how long it has taken me. At least I'll have it once camping season is over.

I thought I read somewhere that the 2016 was going to be a short year and that the 2017 were going to come in halfway through the model year , something like a 2016 and a half? any one else heard that? If so maybe that is causing a slowdown..

Oh well life goes on. Many things are out of our personal control and can change overnight. Never make plans depending on a new vehicle or anything for that matter, that is "on order".

Now the fun begins. Paste your VIN into the link below and then keep trying it every day until it responds with a window sticker. Go the DieselStop.com forums, and check out the Ordering Vehicle section for information on others' experience.
