Does anyone have any insight into the 2016 Ford F350? I have not been able to find a 2015 that we are happy with so am about to order a 2016 and have heard rumors about what the changes will be...any input is appreciated.

Gee fish, I am really surprised that you don't agree that the Ford auto is better than ally 1000???? The Ford tranny would stand up to the Cummins torque where the Ally 1000 would not. That is one thing Ford did right.

Chris

Oh I never said the Ally was better than the latest Ford tranny... Just that the Ally is better than yours! :W

No need for the hoods if you follow FAA's drone operation guidelines. Seriously though, you are bringing up issues that have not been an issue in Ford's current line of engines. I would have thought you were up to date on the current offerings since you just purchased a new truck and did your research?

The current 5.0 and 6.2L engines are pretty bullet proof, but I did get bitten on the tail helping a friend fix his 5.0 that liked to spit plugs out (went from "can you help me change the plugs on my truck because they keep falling out" to "I have to have this fixed by tomorrow for work and don't know what a screwdriver is for"). Just ribbing the Ford guys a little. That being said, I used to work for Ford and have had several first model year Fords and I am a little gunshy about doing first years with them again. Ford technology is often bleeding edge, but sometimes it is your blood. But they are very good at getting the bugs worked out and making long term solid products. I did look at the Ford F-350 before I bought my current truck, but was a little intimidated by the engine design and the CP-4 injection system.

Prediction: 2017 SuperDuty will have the aluminum alloy body and a 5.0L EcoBoost.

Wonder how far a 5.0L EcoBoost could launch the sparkplugs? The project is probably held up on getting the kevlar hoods made.

I haven't heard of any plug issues with the ecoboost.

2016 is a short run year with no significant changes. 2017 is the big revamp. This pic has not yet been disproved and has not been photoshopped. I hope this isn't it...

If that pic turns out to be the new Super Duty....
I'm gonna do the unthinkable...... Actually feel sorry and embarrassed for the Ford boys.

I doubt the company will use a alloy engine in a super duty.
CGI is almost certain.

CGI is what the new 2.7L EcoB is.

Expect we'll see an upgrade to the 3.5L sometime using the same technology.

They're making enough money off the things, and seem to be willing to spend it on R&D.

I would say what is going to happen with the Diesel being the true towing engine for that and the F350
