32' Spree Awning (others too?), how do I change the angle?

I have a Spree, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to change the angle on the electric awning to let rain water drain off properly. As a result, I never use the awning, which is NOT what I want.

I've stared at those awning arms for hours, and I just can't figure this out. I would REALLY appreciate your two cents, even if it isn't a spree and you may have had the same trouble.

Thank you so much,

Chad in MN

If your awning is the Travel"R flat pitch by Carefree, it is NOT adjustable. They do sell upgrade arms that allow for adjusting. They have since discontinued the flat pitch and now have adjustable arms. The upgrade also includes the auto dump feature

My electric awning has auto dump and the arms are not adjustable. My friends electric awning has adjustable arms but not auto-dump. They both work fine. No reason not to use your awning.

Our electric awning isn't adjustable. Like Bear Den's, it dumps the water when enough collects. What I don't like about these electric awnings is they're horizontal and the sun shines right in. The manual type can be adjusted to some extent to keep the sun out. They also collect seeds and nuts and twigs and leaves that weight them down and encourage mold growth, unlike the manual ones that are tilted. But with Heartland, they give you no options.

If yours is like mine, a Carefree by Colorado, it has an automatic feature which dumps the water at the front of the awning when the water weight gets to the right point. I too had a concern with angling the awning until I met a guy over Labor Day weekend who had the same trailer and explained this feature to me. Sure enough, last week we were camping and had some rain and the awning dumped on its own.

Ok. I wish I had the camper close so I could take a picture but I'll try to describe. Mine is electric as well... It took me awhile to figure this out (LOL) because mine was too easy,

When fully extended (on mine) I just go over to the bottom of the two supports on each side of the awning. Just where this bottom support meets the wall of the camper there is a joint where you push or pull to adjust the angle of each side as you wish. It is sooooo simple... I figured it out on my third trip... Hah. On reflection the guy went over it on my PDI and I just lost the info in my brain.

Pretty sure the Spree has a Carefree of Colorado awning which is non adjustable.

On my Dometic I just push back the support arm and tighten down the black knob to create my slope. As stated above make sure you set awning back to original setting before retracting.

Don't know that it's the same awning, but on ours there is a black knob on each of the support arms. Just loosen the knob, let the awning down to where you want it and tighten the knob. Be sure to remember to loosen it and return to the original position before putting the awning back in. Assuming you're talking electric awning rather than manual.
