53k list price on a Ram what should I pay?

My question is if buying cash how much off of list should I expect. List is 53k on a 2016 3500 SRW Long Box crew cab, big horn package. They say they have 3000 off incentive. I believe they will go a lot lower than that but there doesn't seem to be a lot of these around. I am guessing their cash price could come down to about $46500. Curious if any of you have had any dealings on this or general opinions on what I should look for in price.

Also looking for opinions on the hemi 6.4 engine and the truck in general.
I did drive one of these trucks the other day and I can say I did like it and it seemed to have tons of power for a gasser.

I may do nothing as I do love the truck in my signature but all this fuel pump talk gives me the jitters. I will be out of warranty in about 8 months all though I only have 35k on the rig.

Thanks in advance for any opinions.

In these forums you will quickly find out that no matter what you paid or what you bought you could have bought something much better for a much lower price. If the truck was made of solid gold and the dealer offered to pay you to take it, someone here will tell you they got a much better deal.

LOL, I don't think truer words have been spoken on this site!:B

Every buyers situation is unique and ones deal has many variables. This past October purchased a 2015 Dodge Ram 3500 CTD long bed 4x4 crew cab dually Laramie Longhorn loaded including Alcoa wheels. Had a window sticker of $67,748. We were just a few days from cross country trip and my old 2006 Dodge 2500 CTD 4x4 truck needed a new transmission. Even though truck was paid off been nickel and diming this truck for past 2 years. 5.9 engine is great but everything else was becoming problematic. Got price down to 60,000 on the Longhorn before rebates and loyalty discount. Also got a good trade for my 2006 that needed a new tranny. Got a very good deal considering.

Sounds like you did pretty good!! Imcurrently negotiating on a 2016 Laramie 3500 with an MSRP of 67885. He dropped to 59800 without me even asking. I'd be happy at 56-57k.

My final price was close to 62k. I compared them to Dave Smith. Both same price. AutoNation gave me 4K more in trade. So no I did not get hosed.

I have EVERY option except for auto dim and wipe.

Rear air ride is included so is Aisin trans.

62 would be good.......66 not so much.

Agree! The 66,xxx was the invoice price. Incentives come off that. Anything less is usually a years end sale like I had with my last 11 LongHorn that I paid 51,600 or so.

Yes, use the internet, but by all means use it to go to fightingchance.com

For each sale made, TrueCar dealers pay TrueCar $299. Why would anyone pay close to an average price, when, by definition, it means that about half the people got a better price, maybe a much better price?

Car dealers know you use the internet. The dealer invoice has nothing to do with the cost of the car they are trying to sell you.

🙂 Hi, no numbers here, but I got a good deal on my new truck. Most importantly, I got all of the specs and options that I requested. My truck was located in a different state. Many special deals are what is on the lot and not what I want.

I paid 39K for a 48K MSRP new model year 2500 Ram back in early 2014. Paying about 80% of MSRP seems to be a pretty good ballpark. Some folks report doing better, some worse. New/old model year and some other factors come into play.

I'm sort of in the same situation... Looking for at Longhorns with MSRPs around 73k. I see them advertised for 63-64 all day but what should final price be? I assume there is more room to move on the higher priced trucks. I look at sites like true car and to me they still seem high.

Does that say 66 or 56? If that's 66 you got hosed.

To those that are saying that some are quoting pie in the sky low prices, I would have to say I myself have gotten those same unbelievable low prices myself. To knock 10k off of a 50k truck is doable. I cant remember exact figures but on my current truck they dropped down somewhere around 5k after there best rock bottom price. It took a week or two and several supposed trips to their managers. I never stepped foot on their lot. They came down and picked up my truck and delivered my new truck and brought me the paperwork. I had done my research the last time and I didn't move a dime off my price and they finally meant it. I just haven't bargained on a Dodge for about 20 years. I have been checking out the Dave Smith website. They look pretty darn aggressive.

Thanks again for all the opinions.
