Since I am now a new Dually truck owner would like to hear fellow DRW truck owners thoughts on tire rotation. Read on many truck forums that many owners do not rotate tires and some that do rotate...Opinions please.

I swap fronts to right rear, that keeps the rotation the same.Next swap cycle is fronts to Left rear. Again, keeps the rotation.

Many friends in tire and alignment industry agree with that practice.

YMMV

You rotate EVERYTHING side to side at every oil change (15,000 miles) leaving the spare out of the equation.

In my case with the aluminum rims that came with the truck, any other method would mean dismounting and re-mounting tires on different rims.

Thats pretty much what I do on my 2006 F-350, except I don't rotate the inner steel rear wheels/tires.

Sounds right but wonder if it is different with Alcoa wheels? Will check in morning but think inners are not Alcoa?

Oddly, my rears tend to wear faster than my fronts, so, when I start to notice some wear on the rears, I'll rotate.

My owners manual for the dually only showed rotation for non-directional tires as shown below on the left.

My winter tires have a directional tread and require a different pattern shown on the right.

I rotate usually between 10K and 20K. I'm not anal about it.

My preference (opinion only) is:

Driver front to inside driver rear
Outside driver dually to passenger front
Inside driver dually to outside driver dually

Other side same.

I leave the spare alone.

DH has the tires rotated every other oil change because gets used mostly when we're camping May-Nov.

It's 4 yrs old and only has 24k miles. It's an indication that we should camp more.

I agree not to rotate if the wear is even.

My DRW came with steer tread on the front and drive tread on the rear. The most I can do is rotate left to right, but I do not see the point if wear is even.
