Auto Leveling on a TT??

Has anyone ever seen a TT that comes with it or has anyone added an auto leveling system to their TT? Has been offered on motorhomes for many years and over the past few years has found it's way onto 5er's and toy haulers as well. I don't see why not on TT's. For me it's not a lazy thing as much as it is something to save my marriage 😉

I'm kidding! But we do stay at a lot of state parks and other places with very un-level sites and by the time we finally get it level my wife is ready to kill me. I can't stand a trailer not level!! Last year we were on a trip and had a very un-level site that made us build up leveling blocks 3-4 high. Took me 30 minutes of playing just to get it level. Was not a big deal with our old 19' hybrid but with a 33' TT it can be a real pain. I would gladly spend a few thousand extra on my next TT to just push a button and be done!

What are your thoughts!

i have seen hwh systems installed on regular travel trailers. there are limiting factors in all jacks, because of the short distance between the frame and the ground. the front isnt the problem. the rear jacks have to be mounted behind the rear axle to keep from twisting the frame. please feel free to call me at 602-549-3638 if you would like to talk. i do work for hwh, but i do not sell the jack systems. i only repair them. i do a lot of work with camping world.

Really though, while leveling the trailer isn't a big deal, its actually one of my main gripes with the trailer. I will be upgrading to a leveling system shortly. Most of my stays are only one night, so the leveling and raising of the manual jacks adds up to some hassle, and I'd rather spend the time elsewhere.

Understood. This is why auto leveling systems typically have jacks directly behind the axle not at the very rear of the trailer like stab jacks, and they typically both lift together not one at a time. Personally, I think it is something the industry should look at including on more TT's. Based on responses to this thread I am seeing systems that cost roughly $3k that appear to be true 4 point auto level systems both hydraulic and electric options. If I was buying a $20,30,40k travel trailer I would be happy to spend an extra $3k for this option. Just my opinion. Thanks again all!

Get These!

Then use tongue jack for front to back and put down the stabilizers.

Be careful. TT frames are all over the map strength wise. None of them were designed with a self leveling system in mind. I do think it may be possible to do it, if your TT has a stout frame. I would lean towards the 6 jack systems to better distribute the weight.

Thanks all. I will look into some of these. To some of the replies regarding standard levelers, I appreciate it but I am talking about areas that are seriously out of level. Boards, leveling blocks, etc all kick out if too high. I have had travel trailers for about 10 years and am pretty good at setting up quick in normal circumstances but we have some state parks and I go to some music festivals where I end up on a hill or on a site clearly designed for tents and it gets frustrating. Thanks again all

You might give Anderson Levelers a look. THey make leveling a TT about as easy as it can be without installing expensive automatic stuff.

Side-side jacks?
I assumed he meant some boards under the low side tires.
I just cut two length of 2x6 with a 45 degree bevel on the end.
I can see roughly how far out the trailer is in place, pull forward a couple feet, put the boards down and back the trailer up onto them.
1 board brings me up 1 1/2", if not enough add the second board.
Then the hitch jack for leveling front to back, and stabilizers to just beyond snug.
I have also used them to change a flat.
Pulled the good tire up on them, changed the flat, and drove away.
Multi purpose.

As long as the 2 side-side jacks are placed in the middle of the trailer it should work.
