Bumper storage box

Due to limited outdoor storage I am thinking about mounting a small storage box to my rear bumper to hold my dump supplies, extra hose, gloves, etc. I know I have to keep it light weight due to limitations in weight capacity. Any suggestions? Thanks

Just for insurance, think about adding the mount-n-lock safety struts. $65 and about 20 minutes. Money well spent.

I am very interested in attaching a box like yours. How did you attach the box to the pipe? Can you tell me instructions for a beginner? I bought a 2000 four winds and I have no place to keep the sewage parts and hose. I would love to have a box like this to keep those items in. My boyfriend bought me a ammo box, but I don't think it is large enough.

Nice job on the mounting bracket. Yes, that looks like the same box as mine. The recessed area for the handle fills up with water, but never leaks into the interior.

If it's just the hoses, the gloves, and the hose fittings, the fence post covers with gutter infill works real well and you can mount one anywhere.

I bought two "universal" Geneva tool boxes (http://www.genevamfg.com/shop/category.aspx?catid=19)that describe as follows: 6-ft bed w/1 divider, All Steel Powder-Coated Sidebed III Storage Box Part #460011. All that means that they are designed to fit a pickup behind the cab with a six foot bed. I installed them right on top the the sewer hose carrier/bumper. These are about 18" wide and very high quality/water proof. They have the same tool box for a 8' bed, meaning it will be a little longer. The only down side is the cost as they were about $300.00 each. Yes, kind of ridiculous, but I was pushed for time, short on space. I have had more people compliment me on those little boxes than I can remember. They look like they belong on the trailer.

I've done this on our last 4 TT's without a problem.
Just buy a nice pickup tool box and use 4 square U bolts to mount it. I have several pictures of my mount plus a mount for the spare tire but don't know how to paste them here. If you need them, we'll find a way to get them to you.
