Cable TV cable

My Dad and I are going surf fishing at the Outer Banks in two weeks. We're taking the TT DW and I just bought. I've never used cable in a camper before. Our trailer has the male plug on the outside. The CG includes cable. Will it have a male plug, too? Will I just need a cable with two female ends? Thanks.

Hopefully your TT is wired right. You will have to go into the TV's menu and select cable over air, then find 'scan'. You need to run 'scan' so the tv can find the tv stations.

And the TV set to cable input.

And just to make it a little easier, when I don't need a really long cable, I carry one that is about five feet long, and then a second cable about 20 feet long. It is sometimes needed to have fairly long cords and connections due to differing layouts of campsites.

determining the sex of TV cables is confusing. you have a female plug on your RV and on the post. their male part is tiny. ๐Ÿ™‚

It is female. I was wrongly calling it male because of the threaded part, not the pin part.

Same here.

I've never seen a campground supply the cable. Just a female outlet on or near the post.

You'll likely need a length of cable: RG-6 with F connectors. The one on your RV is a female unless it's some weird, non factory hack job. It should have external threads. The threads don't determine the gender. The inside has a small hole. The male F connector has female threads but a wire that sticks into the hole.
Cables like this are readily available at just about any Radio Shack, Best Buy, Walmart, etc.

Yes. That us that I have and the CGs that I went to with cable had the male jack as well.

Your trailer should have the female port on the outside....

Have seen CG's both ways. Best to take a hunk of cable with male ends, and a female to female adapter just in case.
