Can a Rock do this to a camper?

I found this hole in the front corner of my camper. It looks like a bullet hole to me as I don't think a rock can do this, but I'm not sure. I would have to tear into the camper to determine if a bullet is there, and I don't want to do that.
I don't like to think it is a bullet hole, but what else could it be? It kinda freaks me out!

If you're really intent on finding what caused it, measure the hole position on the outside, then crawl up in there and locate it on the inside. Cut a small opening. I bet you find it resting on the insulation (if there is any in that area). Otherwise, it probably fell into the basement. In which case, it wouldn't be worth it to open it up.

But I agree, if it were a bullet, you'd know. Likely, it was a rounded rock that was sitting nice and comfy in a truck tire tread and decided to let loose. But then again, you'd have heard the impact being on the driver side.

Or like someone mentioned, a wrist rocket projectile, like a ball bearing, marble (do they even make marbles anymore?) or something similarly shaped. If that's the case, the little darling responsible was probably aiming for your mirror and missed. Do you recall ticking off any kids lately?

Did you find a hole inside your camper? If not then it wasn't a bullet.

When our fifth wheel got a 1" x 2" puncture on its front end, I first got quotes for repairs. $2,000! They wanted to take the front end apart from the inside to patch the hole on the nose, which included removing cabinetry.

Instead, I purchased this Marine Tex epoxy, cut the hole smooth, sanded the gelcoat gently, then patched with this epoxy. After it had hardened, I sanded it smooth. Five years later and the patch looks like new still. It has retained its quality.

If you can't fix it so it's invisible I'd rivet a conspicuous patch of aluminum or galvanized steel over it, then make up a good story to go with it. Something involving zombies, in-bred hillbillies, angry girlfriends/wives/in-laws, etc.

I'd get some mileage out of it. :B

One thing for sure....it's a hole.
Slap some of that tape like that used to hold level on and it'll blend right in

Great. So now we have drill wielding people out there inflicting damage on campers. When will this madness end?

On a serious note, not making light of the hole, if you haven't, I'd certainly inspect for further damage.

Big ugly hole but doesn't look like a bullet hole to me either-though viable alternative equally puzzling. If just guessing my 1st thought was too much pressure on drill bit & flutes caught. Just from picture looks like if projectile it hit at pretty good angle, the chip on top surface leaving chip inside @90° would be hard to duplicate. Hard to say, Id be more inclined to think rock from opposing traffic.
Cant imagine tearing camper apart would solve anything (less you found object) other than fixing. I believe your water heater is on other side so I'd be inspecting that. Any evidence the panel is cracked from an impact verses something poking hole-pulling the heater would allow fixing with back up. Cover patch with single stick on bubble.

If folks want to see the images, then hit the "quote reply" button in the OP's first post and do a message preview and you can see the images (but do not actually reply to post.) Yes, quite convoluted, but at least the images can be seen.

The above method of which I describe may work for folks that do not have the "Show images that are part of posts (not recommended for dial-up users)" box checked in the "My Preferences" tab. That was my problem for images not showing, I just activated that and the images now show up for me.

Apologies for perhaps a useless post on my part (still learning the RV.net ropes) but this may help others:)

Sure doesn't look like a bullet hole to me, and I have put bullet holes in lots of things (never other peoples property thou).

I am going to guess a rock or slingshot.

Should be some evidence inside the camper... through and through or, or, orrrrrrr.

Maybe someone with a marble and a slingshot!
