Can my TV handle this 5th Wheel?

This is the one I want. Before you decide please realize that we travel with ONLY 10 gallons of water (max) & use it to flush toilet when we stop.

Tv - 6000 lbs wt. / 3250 payload/ 10000 towing max./ 16000 GVWR

5th wheel specs - 7547 dry/ 1035 hitch/ 10800 gvrw

That means I could add about 3200 lbs of water, cloths, food...etc.? Correct

I mainly camp in eastern NC but MIGHT travel to mountains 1 a year. Fancy Gap, VA & Black mountain, N C are the biggest obstacles.

Can my TW handle it? If so, what hitch would you recommend?

Suspect your numbers and the best thing to do is to go out and actually
weigh your truck, axle by axle, both fully loaded ready to go and empty

Suspect the 6,000 is the published 'curb' for your 2500HD. 'Curb' is
the 'stripper' model and no options...like the Duramax/Allison which
will add several hundred pounds, min, to that curb of 6K. Even with
the small block 6L, it will weigh more than the 'curb', if you have
any options like: AC, power door/window/seat, upgrade interior, etc, etc

Suspect the 16,000 is the GCWR (gross combined weight rating)...
Note that if you have over sized (larger dia) tires...that 3.73 is
effectively changed to a lower numeric, which lessens the tow
ratings.

Payload is typically based on a 'curb' weight, so it will be less
by the weight of all the options

The 'dry' is the 'curb' for the TV. No options and suspect you already
knew that with your comment of limiting your water

Only if you do have a 'curb' weight truck...again, best to go out
and actually weigh your truck, axle by axle.

That is the only way to know where you are in reference to your trucks
ratings

That 'might' becomes a reality all too often and I refer to those instances
as "when Mr Murphy crosses your path"

If you are only looking for a confirmation, then you will get tons of
them and note that there is only one person responsible for the setup
and that is the driver. Maybe not even you, the OP, but someone else
driving it

I do not normally say yes or no, but provide the information to
figure it out yourself, as again, there is only person responsible
for the setup..the driver

Plenty of truck and motor/gearing with the 6-spd. I prefer the 4.10 with 6th gear's 0.67:1 ratio, but the 5 usable towing gears works well.

For the most part, off the cuff - it sounds like you'll be within your ratings with this truck and fifth wheel combination.

The biggest wildcard is how much actual payload do you have in your truck? Myself, my wife, my family, truck add-ons (bed cover, spray in liner) and hitch ate up 1,200 pounds of my yellow/white sticker'd payload.

We do the mountains every other year or so.

I would be at only if i fill the fw up to maximum capacity correct? I do not plan to
Add 3000 lbs of cargo. Probably more like 1500-1700lbs.

OK, think you got a number mixed up tho: 16000 is probably the GCWR (max weight of TV and RV combined), because the GVWR on my Diesel Dually is only 13000. So you have a max tow of 10000 but a RV with a gross of 10800 which will put the real world pin weight close to 2000. Remember that Dry weight is usless as many RVs leave the Factory 1000 Lbs or more above that number once options are added. No matter how you look at it, you will be at or over just about every spec of your TV. Me, I wouldn't do it. Only you can make the final decision.
