So I need to replace our skylight in our 2004 northwood nash. I can't find any skylights in my size. The rough open in the roof is 14" x 20". I only have been finding 14x22. Anyone have a good place they could tell me about? Thank you

I also broke my skylight on my Arctic fox 29-5T, same rough opening measurements 14X20. Northwood wouldn't even tell me what the original part number was - call the dealer they said. Dealer is out of business. Yes, tough to find a skylight that fits. If anyone has their original part number, please post it.

It may not be necessary to move the framing. I have a Northwood Northwind. The interior portion of the skylight fits the opening fine. However, the roof dome is about one inch longer than the opening. They placed it over the opening leaving a one inch ledge under the dome at the front edge of the opening. Hasn't been a problem. However, the skylight has cracking along the inner edge of the flange and has leaked. I got the leak under control but will need to fix water damage to the ceiling and possibly top of exterior wall. None of this was because the dome was 1 inch longer than the opening. The dome became brittle due to age and UV damage.

The opening framing looks okay although slightly water stained. If don't need to replace any other roof or wall framing I will have to go to a slightly larger dome any way since I cannot find the same exact size dome.

By the way my dome was sealed to the rubber roof with butyl tape and the outer seal over the flange and screws was self leveling caulk. On the repair I will still use the butyl tape under the flange but will probably just use Eternabond over the flange and screws.

Did u replace the interior and exterior domes? If my intior dome was not damaged I would just get a bigger exterior one and be done with it.

So the problem is that I need the interior dome also. Someone was on the roof and put there foot through the entire skylight. So I called Northwood and they gave me the part number that I need so hopefully a dealer can order the parts. Northwood looked it up and they are calling it a 13x19 even though I measured the rough opening at 14 x 20 after I removed the interior dome. I guess worse case scenario I will order the 14x22 and have to cut the roof open 2 inches on one side and move the 2x4 support. I just hope that one of the dealers I called comes through with a part for me.

Had same problem with our Arctic Fox. That is why I went with a more common size. Northwoods wanted 3 weeks to get them to me. And full timing at the time. Hard to tell where we would be when they came in. Can't tell the difference looking up from the inside at a larger and more common size. Went thru regular RV part dealer, 2 days later was putting them on. http://www.icondirect.com/skylights/ is what I ended up with. Or order direct. Amazon also has them I think. When I was putting them on, had a question and called their tech department, they gave great service and advice.

They recommended to put flat washer on the screw to dissipate stress compared to just screw, so far has worked out great. The caulking they send sure sucks to work with though. They gave reasons why for the sealant they use. Can't say I'm entirely sold on SB 120 caulking, but no leaks yet. Took more time getting roof cleaned up than putting them on.
