Chevy 4cyl turbo.

I hesitated to post this here because of the 1/2 ton is worthless 6700 lbs ain't nothing crowd here but for some people this may be all you need.

I bet this thing pulls better than my 2011 5.3l.

If I paid for a eleventeen speed transmission I want it to do lots of shifting. 🙂

Pretty impressive for a full sized truck with a 4 cylinder engine.

Urban grocery hauler I guess but the price tag is still high. Highway economy is only 22? Is out towed by the Ranger and lil brother Colorado? Like the Tacoma poor mileage and no torque despite the displacement and turbo. I don't see this being a win for Chevy. Maybe somebody sees an angle for success I am missing?

That might be all you need and more prudent next move is to look at the gross weight of the RV you intend to pull.

I was about to upgrade to a bigger truck myself then I found out I have enough for the RV I intend to buy.

I realized I actually hit a sweet spot between the pull capability of my truck and the weight of my RV -- and later on found out that my RV is ideal for the tight spots of national and state parks that I intend to go and camp.

If I were in the market for a 1500 series I would drive one. I would hope that the turbo direct injected 4 would have a nice broad torque curve to keep constant shifting at bay. I drive a 2011 Tahoe with the 5.3 in my job and on the freeway any time you hit the gas it downshifts one or two gears. It gets pretty old, I wouldn't stand it for my own daily driver.

It probably does but I would look at a new 5.3 and Ford's 2.7 turbo to compare value before making the purchase. From the reviews that I have read the Chevy 2.7 turbo really doesn't have anything to offer over other engines available.

Yes, but I'm not willing to "try" this engine out until its road proven. Are you?
