Davlin Campers

Hi all,
I have been obsessing over truck campers for a couple of months right now as I try to figure out what is going to work for me. I had almost resigned myself to the pop-up TC, when I saw this available not far from me:

I can't really find anything online about Davlin Campers. Any information on them?
Is it really possible to put a hard-side camper on a Ford Ranger or other small truck?

I would rather have no dinette than go without a bathroom. You can always sit in your outdoor chairs and eat. Wait for the bears, if any, with a Henry leaned up.

I don't know. The old Rangers are really capable Truck Camper carriers; I have not heard of frame damge unlike the Navara/Frontier. That is, if the brakes used on the US model were as good as what the international market got 😉

People here will do about anything to remain under 3.5 metric tons GVW for legal reasons. You would be astonished what is possible. 7 ft campers are quite common on these trucks.

Looks like the cab over area is already sagging. Then again why have a camper without a bathroom as public restrooms are not the cleanest places in the world.

Truck/trailer with huge weight changes are impossible for perfect brakes tuning, not mentioning that my perception is that good brakes was not industry priority.
My 32,000 lb Prevost on the other hand was the only motorhome that I could "stop on a dime" and made me smiling after driving 15,000lb motorhomes.
Too many variables, but again, physics make friction force linear with weight.

Not really. I typically ran an 11 axle unit grossing 161,000 pounds and even with 11 axles and 22 sets of brakes, stopping it was still a chore at times.

I'd say it would be a better test to load the fiat up with about 1000 more kg weight and see if that affects stopping distance.

Considering what a piece a Fiat is, loading 1000 kg in it would probably break it in two.
