Didn't use the camper at all this year.

Just wasn't in the cards this year. I didn't get the camper loaded until the July 4th weekend, never dewinterized it until mid-August, and unloaded it last Saturday morning.

Every weekend I could use it was raining. Every weekend I wanted to use it I was on call for work and chained to my desk waiting for the next disaster.

Putting 10-ply tires on half ton trucks since aught-four.

I understand about the rain...got a good friend who lives just south of Binghamton and he told me a couple weeks ago that they've had 40" of rain so far this year and he can't mow some sections of his lawn because the lawn mower sinks into the lawn. I told him the area where I live is way above average for the years also - we've received 6.9" this year.......

Not only is camping not fun when it's raining, but its way too easy to sink the truck if you get off pavement.

Agree with the poster above. Out in Colorado the kids are all back in school, traffic dies down on I-70, leaves start to change color and the weather starts to cool down. My favorite time of year out here.

The best part of camping season hasn't started yet. 🙂 Seriously though, after Labor Day is some of the best times.

I made it to Yellowstone for one trip. Otherwise, I've been camping at the ranch in MT where my TC has been sitting off truck for a few months. I expect I will use it a few more times until the house is a little more remodeled.

For sure, less individual drives with truck camper for us compared to last year!

I totally get it. My F-I-L just passed away 2 weeks ago and my wife had 24 hr. care for him the last 2 years at home. We're neighbors and it meant that our trips had to be close by and within cell phone service. I went to the Lassen Park area over the 4th of July and that's it.
There will be opportunities to come and hopefully you can commit. Just over the weekend, we synced our calendars (pretty techy for being in our late 50's) for some outings at the coast this winter and a 9 day trip up US 395 through our eastern Sierras at the end of Sept. Hope you have some plans made as well!

I understand completely.
We bought a new truck in September 2014. We set it up for the camper and are ready to go, but haven't been able to get loose. The camper has been waiting in the barn for us to load it up.
Hopefully we will load it on in a couple of weeks.

Yep... same boat here. Since I bought a fixer-upper house, my weekends are spent doing other things. Never de-winterized, never on the truck this year (need the truck bed for the trips to the home and building center)... thinking of putting a sign on it... it has become a white elephant.
Sold the TC, previous owner of 2 NorthStar pop-ups & 2 Northstar Arrows...still have the truck:

You have my sympathy... Maybe next year will be better for you!
I sort of know how it feels. No camping for us in 2016. Between health issues and building a new home we had sold our camper in spring of 2016. We got a new one this June, after all the dust had settled. So much better....
