Hi everybody, We have gotten back into RVing with the purchase of a new TT. We had looked at class b's, TC, but DW prevailed and we have small bunkhouse TT.

Now to the question, I know some of you have modified the slide out dinette booth. I have did a search and seen some pics. but still looking for more ideas. Our dinette booth is probably 1st place uncomfortable. I'm gonna do something with it just what, i'm still looking

Thanks mayor

Took our dinette out and installed 2 recliners. Wow what a difference!

I removed ours and just use a small drop leaf table and chairs. Way more comfortable and when not in use the table goes into the corner and frees up a ton of room.

We love the sofa and have absolutely no regrets about the loss of a dinette. We don't use an ottoman. Sometimes we just sit and relax with a Southern Comfort Manhattan. My life likes to read in bed, and I like to read lying on the sofa so it all works out pretty good for us.

We got rid of the heavy, awkward "portable" table that came with the camper and initially used small folding tables instead. I eventually came up with an even better idea. I made a gate leg table. It's only 8" wide with the leaves down. I call this "cocktail mode" (see above). With one leaf up it makes a small desk. With both leaves up it's big enough to serve the two of us a full dinner. You may not care to make such a table as I did, but they are available commercially. If interested I'd check Ikea for some ideas.

I did this a few years ago and my only wish is that I had done it back in 2003!

For us, the dinette was too cramped and even if you used it as a 'bed', only a little kid would fit anyway.

so, I re-used the benches by putting them up against the wall and butted up to each other. Used the same cushions and everything. Only had to relocate one electric outlet.

I "second" ADK! Ours had stand alone furniture, but we replaced the table and chairs and rocker seats and replaced with a full 3 seater, recliner sofa. Backs remove, that's how we got it in the door. We've been VERY happy with it ever since. We use camping "TV" trays for our table now. We never did use the table that came with the camper, and previous 2 campers, we never used the booth.

We don't need the booth since we don't have visitors. Ours has a second smaller couch that flips into a bed, and the couch is comfortable enough by itself to sleep on too. Actually 2 people can sleep on it. Flip out the feet and recline. My wife and I do this quite often! Fall asleep watching TV late night and next thing you know, it's morning!

We found a small trailer with a slide and NO dinette but a reasonably comfortable sofa. Best decision we ever made! I think you might be able to remove the dinette and replace it with either a small sofa or a couple of chairs. First thing I'd do is inspect the dinette to make sure nothing critical is built in under the bench. You might find a water pump or water heater under there. That would make replacing the dinette very difficult.
