Do mods void trailer warrenty?

We just brought home our new TT last weekend. I started some mods (adding bed rails to my bunks). In the process I crawled on the top bunk to turn on the light, and it crashed down. Broke right by the bunkhouse cabinet. The wood looks to me to have a weak spot where it broke. Either way, It's limit is 300lbs I am about 200lbs wet. Do the bed rails void my warranty?

Don't fret. Once you get it home, it's yours. Now's your chance to make it what you want, the way you want.

Get a little mud on the tires ๐Ÿ™‚

thanks for all the input. Upon further inspecting it, I am going to be able to repaiar it and make it stronger pretty easily. I may also add support to the other top bunk while I am at it.

The only way to get it on record that will mean anything, would be to take it into the dealer so they could go through the particular manufacturers established warranty submittal and documentation process. If it's not recorded in the units file at the manufacturer good luck.

I agree with.....

If you fix it under warranty, it will just be replaced with the same junk that it was originally.

And will be done by dealer lacky vs the highly trained factory installer

Gads.....just rebuild it yourself and be done with it

And will add that it would most likely take weeks....if not months.
Too many geezers, self appointed moderators, experts, and disappearing posts for me. Enjoy. How many times can the same thing be rehashed over and over?

Yep, brand new trailer, first trip out, plumbing issue with the shower drain. The P trap cracked... We didn't even use the shower! Took it in to dealer to fix.. They fixed it in a couple of days..

Next trip out, same thing happened..

Fixed it myself at the campsite, by putting in a rubber coller between the drain and the P trap and problem solved.. Been some 14 years since the original issue and still just fine to this day... ๐Ÿ™‚

If the bed is rated for 300 lbs. and you weigh less than 200 lbs. I would think it would be covered.

Whether it is worth the delay or the effort may be another issue.

If the unit is new, you might wait to see if other problems show. themselves.

Shouldnt. But then again cheap bunk beds I would rebuild for strength instead of light weight.

That is what I was thinking, as the warranty process is probably a pain. Should be an easy fix, the trim and luan just came loose didn't crack, one cracking the wood frame of bed I can reinforce.
