The latest......

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said: "The Office of Defects Investigation, ODI, has received 95 reports alleging incidents of reduced engine power during hard accelerations in model year, MY, 2011 through 2013 Ford F150 trucks equipped with 3.5L gasoline turbocharged direct injection, GTDI, engines. Ford has issued three technical service bulletins related to intermittent stumble/misfire on acceleration from highway cruise in humid or damp conditions in some MY 2011 and 2012 F150 vehicles equipped with 3.5L GTDI engines.

Talking about a navistar engine on a ECO boost thread is like pointing fingers at Pratt & Whitney when a RR powered airliner crashes.

My boss was left swinging in the wind with his 6.0. $5k at 75k miles out of warranty. My 6.2,diesel, which I considered a poor example of a diesel was running fine at 200k with "only" an injector pump, lift pump and vacuum pump required.

Nobody is being "left swinging in the wind" when 75,000 miles out of warranty.

I don't think that he meant that it was 75,000 past the warranty. More likely 15, 000 past a 60, 000 warranty. Probably should have been "75, 000 miles, out of warranty."

I thought all 6.0/6.4/6.7s were warranted to 100k? 75k out of warranty and you can't expect anything from anyone.

The warranty has a time limit too. maybe he only had 75,000 miles, but was over on time?

The "problem" is not new and it's so far anyway been only a tiny fraction of the total built. Some have been purchased back from owners who then have a choice of another Ecoboost or another Ford Engine or take the money elsewhere. 34,000 on mine right now with no signs of any problems. It will have to show itself before I reach the end of my warranty (that's another 66,000 miles) ๐Ÿ™‚

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe you have a 3 year/36,000 bumper-to-bumper and a 5 year/60,000 mile power train.

I believe he must have purchased an extended warranty. I did.

WOW-Started to post this article in tow vehicles but didn't feel that it quite fit so I posted it in the ATC forum before The Texan posted. Lasted less than 30 minutes before it was deleted.:h
