For the guys that where slamming Ram for going with the VM 3.0 in house diesel, Ford is going with a 3.0 diesel made by Range Rover owned by Tata Motors.

Let the spinning begin boys lol

BTW I still think this truck is going to be a huge seller for Ford. Most half ton truck buyers are not towing heavy RV's.

I hope so, but Scania/ MAN want in their case MAN engines in Navistar Trucks.
Still Cummins is used mainly in Australian Kenworths and as an alternative for IVECO Powerstar Trucks. IVECO has come out with a 16ltre 775hp engine in 2014, but no application so far in a OTR truck

You can still get a Freightliner with a Cummins, though they try REAL hard to steer you out of it

PACCAR (Peterbilt/Kenworth) is the same - you can get a Cummins but they push those PACCAR engines big time. Problem is they won't release their full software to the public so most diagnostics have to be done at the dealer. I don't pay 7 mechanics just to take it back to the dealer, I'll stick with the Cummins as long as I can get it in a truck. Though the Volvos and Macks I have (4 - 2013 Volvos, 3 2014 Volvos, 4 2015 Volvos and 4 2016 MACKS) seem to pretty good so far.

Anything is better than the 10 2010 CATs I have...only 4 stil run :S

That will increase. Cummins is being pushed out of the OTR market in the US. DAF engine that has become the PACCAR engine, will be pushed even more. When Scania/MAN eventually takeover Navistar, it will be worse,all MAN engines

Saw a bunch of Iveco trucks in Alaska and western Canada. Built up as 4x4 campers. I'd like to have one with the 3L diesel.

Nope never said that, but if putting words in my mouth helps you sleep better at night then go nuts. Your info is still false and you haven't shown a shred of proof backing it up like I have. In fact, the only evidence you posted proved what I said that the Iveco and Cummins 6.7l engines aren't "basically the same".

No, I have a disdain for people purposely posting false information. I can see accidentally doing it and correcting yourself, but you just keep on posting false info even when presented with facts. Now you are talking about the 5.9L being similar when the discussion was about the 6.7L.

International also uses Cummins. A lot of the medium duty cab over trucks use the Cummins 5.0L as well. Another thing is that a lot of the SCR/DPF emissions devices used on other engines are made by Cummins as well. All PACCAR and International engines have Cummins SCR/DPFs. I am not sure about the others.

No, Ford UK developed and built the engine for PSA. PSA designed the engine.

You know there was an issue with the LBZ with the bronz inserts in the pistons which were later removed.
