Fear of losing Eq bars.

I have a Curt equalizer hitch. Two small metal clips held in place by pressure screws hold the two bars in place on the receiver end. (Opposite the chains) One of the screws already fell out onto the ground. It was after a lot searching that I finally found it.
I'm worried that it will fall out again and I will lose one of the bars when it drops out of the hitch.
I tried to find replacements for the screws to no avail. I tried going on-line at the Curt web site on their parts list and it's not offered. I also tried U-Haul. Any ideas?

My Equalizer hitch has significant pins that I haven't managed to lose.

Great ideas. I contacted Curt and they're sending me a set free of charge.

My clips broke off,, luckily at the storage yard, I went to the auto parts store and purchased stainless steel hose clamps and now they are on for good!!! I will take a picture and post soon..

Been using a standard EAZ-Lift setup for over 11 years with the 'pins' to hold the bars in place and have never lost one... 🙂

Just lucky I guess??

I did just happen to see a single WD bar laying on the side of the road on my commute to work the other day.... Seems they lost it and didn't know it?? But, it was on a bridge with very narrow shoulders and probably didn't want to bother?

Anyway, good luck with your situation!

I found my retaining clips to be a little sloppy too. I took a pointed punch and hammer and give the rivits a whack to expand them in the holes a little. Has worked well all summer with no more loosness in the clips.
