First time buyer

Hello all,

I am looking for my first truck camper. I primarily am going to use it for hunting generally with 1-2 people. My preference is something with a toilet built in. I am looking for something on the less fancy side. So far it looks like the Palmino 1251 may be a good fit for me. I am a little surprised the listed it for 1500 as at almost 2k weight, that exceeds a fair amount of 1500 trucks payload. I am looking at getting a 2500, with either a 6 foot or 8 foot bed.

Any other suggestions? Anything i should look out for?

If you end up looking at 2500s just choose 3500s. Very little difference in price. talking from experience. Best of luck..

If i do get a 8 foot bed i will look into the SS-1500. I do not think the 1251 will work in a 8 foot bed.

At a min a 2500 I went the 1 ton version and a good used one. I picked up a 98 fleetwood caribou 11m about 4200 but it weighs 3450 and it has a generator. Look at the carrying capacity of what ever you decide of my ram 3500 can carry a little over 4K pounds. Good luck in your looking.
