Anyone tow behind Class C?

If so, set ups and where to get receiver hitch installed? Bolted or welded? Or both?

Thank you.

Research online for a shop. You'll also need a aux brake so likely in the $3K+ range.

The key takeaway is you “can” spend $3k or you “could” spend “$1300” to tow 100% safely. $1000 of which is for a brake system.

Appears factory plastic wrap on outside, steel underneath.

Specs are saying it works 6,000 capacity, JKU gross weight 5,400. Just will not be able to load much.

I did this for a Minnie Winnie 31G and 2018 Wrangler 2 door JK. It has worked out great for me.

We tow a 2000 Wrangler TJ (not JKU) but here's our set up and costs, which you could mimic to a degree if it satisfy's your need. All our items ordered from eTrailer -- best prices and free shipping on our orders:

Tow Bar: Curt Front Bumper Tow Bar (we have steel bumper...you might need base plates and different bar). We opted for solid bar vs. the telescoping bars that cost nearly a grand. C19745 ... $100

Safety cables: RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables - 6,000 lbs - RM-643 ... $70

Aux Brake system for Jeep: Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System. Item # RM-8700 ... $950

Charging system line (charges Jeep battery while towing): Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles - RM-156-25 ... $30

Tow lights: We used magnetic lights, to not splice in or factory wiring, since there was no "plug n play" as there most likely is on your JKU. Heavy Duty Magnetic Tow Lights - 20' Wiring Harness with 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector Item # TL21RK ... $38

Cord between Motorhome and Jeep: Hopkins Nite-Glow Tow Bar Extension Cord w/ Socket - Coiled - 7-Way RV to 6-Way Round - 8' Long
Item # HM47054 ... $67

Tax on the above order: $75

Shipping: $0

Total cost: $1,260.

I installed it all myself over the course of 2 weekends. I could do it in 2 days now...a professional in a day.

Look at Ready Brute Elite for tow bar and integrated braking system. Also, double check your weights - Jeep JKU’s can be heavy especially if you also use them to store more stuff while towing.

Bolt on tow bars are just fine. There are a bunch out there and you can find several here at Etrailer.com tow bars for Jeep JK.
