Ford injector pump failure

Usnthedog

The injector pump in my 2009 F250 failed and fouled the injectors. 22 day out of extended warranty and Ford won't pay. Has anyone had similar problems and how much can I expect to pay to have it replaced?

Thanks,

Jeff

To the OP I am glad you found out the problem wasn't as dire as thought. While I do use Ford very selectively and carefully it has been more than a few times they have misdiagnosed or worst yet not done the work I paid them for. I still use them sometimes (a different dealer) for less than major work but like I said only one dealership and one service writer I will deal with. Otherwise when I have time or options I have an independent shop that I use.

All that energy yall wasted bashing and pump was not bad. LOL :S

One misdiagnosed fuel pump doesn't mean there is no problem globally with these motors.

OP...I'm glad it wasn't nearly as bad as was suspected.

Thanks!

Jeremiah
Problem is not as big as you make it. I just find it funny how all the fiat boys jump at the slightest chance on Ford. A post that started out as a possible 6.4 pump failure and you boys go through 6.0, 6.4, and 6.7. Even jumped on the GM crowd this time. If you check the post here most are from Fiat guys. Sorry yall were disappointed this time. :B

My GMC just suffered the dreaded catastrophic hpfp failure. 10k to fix it!
GM is picking up 70% of the cost which is awesome- I am at 109k miles on the odometer.
The truck has been flawless to this point and spent a lot of time hauling at GCWR and running at high speeds.
Sorry it happened because I wanted to run the truck for another year or two (fixing it and trading it in) but on the other hand I get to get a new truck! 🙂
Hope the new one doesn't suffer the same fate!

Glad GM went out and above their warranty obligation.
