Ford rear AC actuator obsolete part-Any other sources?

Hello

It seems the local dealership has finally figured out why the rear ac blows warm while the front blows cold. It only took 5 trips but who am I to complain lol

The part # comes out to F75Z19A522AA or F75Z-19A522-AA. Its listed on Tousley and other online parts outlet but so far all that I have called said it is no obsolete and they are no longer available from Ford.

One site also lists this part for the 98 Expedition if that helps.

Any suggestions on where I can find this part (I'll even consider used)?

Thanks

Thanks it was already fixed by the other dealership. I wished I would have run across your info much earlier but hey it all worked out and I will be getting a check (refund) from the first dealership.

Go to Napa and ask for Part# NOE 6552490 or NOE 6551968. I show my local store has one on the shelf and can have 3 more by Monday afternoon.

Took it to another dealership that has been doing work for me on other Fords and the part it needed was replaced. The part that was "supposed" to have been changed and failed within the year warranty period that they "claimed" was now obsolete was never replaced. The part that they say was obsolete was not needed. I couldn't believe what this dealership (Hawk Ford Oak lawn, IL)did to deceive and steal money from me. I have met many criminals with more character and honesty.

I needed a part for a old ford car I had, and the dealer told me it was obsolete part, called Midwest Ford in Kansas City MO. Because I had bought pats from them before, anyway they did a national search for the part and found that 2 locations showed the parts in stock (Mn. and somewhere else that I can't remember now) called the MN Ford dealer and bought the parts. So call a dealer and ask them to do a search.

Thanks Burbman

I probably should have diagnosed more of the symptoms before taking it to Ford. All I could tell (never ride in back) is that the rear AC isn't cold and the front 2 of the rear 4 ducts seem to have weak airflow. I can reach back while driving and feel the airflow out of those.
Yesterday with temps in the 50F's and engine warmed up I cycled the rear ducts controls from panel to floor. I could feel the air stop when put on floor but could only feel any airflow coming from right floor vent. The left floor vent had no air coming out. I also cycled the temp from hot to cold and on hot it was very warm (not as hot as front dash) and on cold it did cool down. The rear 2 of the 4 rear ducts had stronger airflow so maybe that is by design but don't recall from my 1st Excursion which I didn't have any problems with.
My question is if the blend door was inop would it not work at all or could it just have partial movement?
Sorry I think I hijacked my own thread ๐Ÿ™‚

Rock Auto lists a Standard Motor Products #J04035 as the rear blend door actuator, $37.79, and says it is available and ready to ship.

I've had a few cases on the burb where GM no longer makes or stocks the part, so the aftermarket is the only choice. Junkyards typically don't inventory stuff like this due to the low retail price, it costs more to disassemble it, test it, and inventory it.

Before spending any more $$ you can pull the rear panel and verify the actuator is working-you should be able to see if its moving or not. I have (lately) heard of a couple of failures where you won't necessarily get the clicking.

After 2 weeks of searching the service mgr told me he got a refund check from where he ordered the part. So right now I picked the truck back up and will take it to a reputable shop to see if it's tge TVX or orifice tube. I don't hear any clicking and IIRC the heat blows hot in winter (after a few minutes) so maybe (hopefully) it's one of the other components mentioned.

I was gonna suggest as ford forum but I see you have already posted the question there- that's generally where I go also. Good luck- let us know how you make out.

PS - the actuator is standard Ford fare, the only thing unique about the rear van actuator is the bracket is molded into the part. It you be easy to use a standard actuator (like from the front unit of any Ford) and built your own bracket.

Not in the vans. They are still vacuum, even in the 2014s.

The blend door for 03's are electric. They can fail in either position. Right now mine is broken in the cold position. This is the 3rd one. It may well be the last. These are cheap parts with plastic gears and it's not if- but when because they will fail.
Many times people will tire of replacing them and simply unplug- as they make an annoying clicking sound as they search for position.
I don't know if you've owned your tv since new or not but if not, it may be unplugged.
The part number in your original post is for a blend door.
NOT saying it can't be an expansion valve.....

Actually it does sound like you have a plugged orifice tube. I had that happen after I had body work done. They obviously didn't cap the tubes while it was all apart.

If the blend door vacuum actuator fails it defaults to full heat usually.

Did you have the same symptoms as I do? My front ac is cold but the rear isn't in the summer. This year we had a cold summer so didn't have many opportunities to try it but one day I sat with the truck idling and even the front ac got warm eventually but once I started driving it cooled down but I had it on it's highest setting. The rear heat works in the winter albeit it takes awhile to get warm though. I was wondering if it can also be the orifice tube or the TXV (thermal expansion valve) that I read in forums that also affect the performance of the ac system.
Thanks for the video good info just in case he has to be rebuilt.

Those are notorious for breaking- the plastic-yes plastic gears will break teeth occasionally. I've replaced 2 so far on my 03 Expy. Junkyards are a source also.
