Froli mattress system

Today I ordered the Froli Zona mattress spring/anti-condensation air circulation setup.
It’s made somewhere in Costa Lotta...
I’ll give the rundown on how well it works and how comfortable it is when it gets here, but until then, has anyone else tried it? How is it?

Northern Lite has been supplying new campers with the Hypervent mattress pad, but everyone says that doesn’t work and is a waste of money.

The deal is apparently fiberglass campers are more prone to condensation under the mattress in cold damp weather... like the beautiful, wonderful Pacific Northwest (where all the rock stars write all the depressing grunge songs then kill themselves).

The Froli is supposed to be The Answer, and super comfy to boot.
Is it?

Froli is standard equipment in Cirrus truck campers which use radiant/convection heating.

There are three methods of heat transfer. Convection, conduction, and radiation. Reflectix works only on Radiant heat transfer, AND NEEDS AN AIRSPACE IN ORDER TO DO THAT. If it is in contact with the mattress and the floor, it will provide NO insulation against conduction.

Have you tried using Reflectix or foam board under the mattress to reduce temperature differences and sweating rather than dealing with the condensation? It would seem that if you could insulate better, you might have less condensate to address.

Have beds with both. The Hypervent works. The Froili works better, but costs more.

Who is this "everyone?" All the 40 reviews I've seen on Hyper Vent are positive.

I have used HyperVent on 2 TC’s and never a problem.

People on the Northern Lite Facebook group and a few other places where I’ve seen it discussed.

We’ve used Froli for about 3 years and I’d say it made for comfortable and helped airflow. I agree with the downsides mentioned: cost and increased difficulty when putting the mattress in.

While it is expensive, it does do what they say. Assembled from a bunch of snap together pieces, so you can make it fit pretty much anything. It keeps the mattress elevated about an inch, leaving much more air circulation than something like hypervent. It adds a slight box spring effect to the feel of the mattress, making it softer. More comfortable is subjective, but I think so. I've have the system on the boat for 10 years and not regretted it. It stopped the condensation we were getting there and made sleeping a dream :).

One downside beyond the cost: the design of the plastic pieces tends to catch on sheets etc when you tuck them in, a slight annoyance when you go to pull everything out for washing day. Just something to watch for.

We have a queen Frohli in our Igloo and love it. Super comfy and no moisture issues. Highly recommended.
