Have a Dually with an valve stem mounted TPMS?

If you have a dual rear wheel truck with an aftermarket, valve stem mounted, TPMS (tire pressure monitor system) sensor, you probably already know that the batteries need changing periodically. As luck would have it, right after I got home from the tire shop, the alarm went off that I had a battery on an inside dual sensor that needed changing. I have a TST TPMS system and although I was glad that I asked the tire shop to mount the wheels with the stems at 12 & 6 o'clock positions for ease of access, I found that getting my allen wrench in that tight space to loosen/tighten the set screw was a pain. After trying long reach needle nose pliers and such, I came up with the following makeshift tool for job.

Needed:
1/4" nut driver
5/16" socket (1/4" drive)
6" long 1/4" drive extension
correct size allen wrench for your set screw, (this is put through the detent ball hole in the extension)

Here's a picture assembled before taping to secure the pieces.

Here's the set up taped to keep the pieces together.

Makes things a lot easier and I'm all about keeping my composure when doing tedious tasks such as trying to land a small allen wrench on a set screw that you can see, but not touch. Hope this helps someone else keep theirs as well.

I had custom brass valvestems installed on the inners to protrude through the outer wheels so I can access the tpms. That tool looks good and probably works great!!

I went to transfer the rims and tires from my 2012 2500HD to the 2015 3500HD SRW, got down to having to deal with the TPMS and found out that the 3500's don't have it. I thought that was interesting.

I don't use TPMS, but want to complement you on the thoughtful repurposing of tools. Good job!

I don't use the set screws to lock mine on. I have not lost one in over two year.
