Help!!!! Mice invasion

I discovered about three weeks ago a mouse nest in the drawer of my truck camper. It was fairly new because I check my camper thoroughly often. In the past three weeks I have caught 6 mice with the old fashion snap traps. I donโ€™t see any evidence of them in the main part of the camper it appears that they are in the draw (which is by the furnace) and the bathroom cubby. These are the areas I am putting the traps. What advice would you guys with experience with this give me. I never had this problem in the past 10 years. Thanks

"I never had any trouble with mice until I moved to my "new" house on a very wooded lot a few years ago."

A couple cats and a good dachshund and you won't have mice in those woods any more. We have 2 dachshunds and between the 2 of them and our cat, we find dead narled up moles and have eaten mice laying around the yard, the back porch, and side walks quite often. Haven't had any mice in the house since we got the cat about 10 years go. But sure see them dead outside. We live in the country surrounded by corn and bean fields.

Thanks, I just ordered Fresh Cab from Amazon. We will give it a try.

I never had any trouble with mice until I moved to my "new" house on a very wooded lot a few years ago. Fresh Cab works well if you remember to refresh it - it doesn't last forever. This year the mice invaded early because of the rain. I have a combination of Fresh Cab and an electronic repellent. I don't know which is effective, or maybe both, but no mice have touched the bait I put out. Before all of this, here is what I found in my bathroom the end of September.

Maybe... Iโ€™ve used decon for years in campers and airplanes. The only dead ones I have found were stuck on sticky traps baited with decon. Decon makes the critters go looking for water.

Avoid the Bounce sheets if you are in Iowa. Iowa mice use them as nesting material.

Do you have it plugged in to shore power, are they coming up the cord? Is it on or off the truck?

This ^ I believe is the only place mice can get into our camper.
Seemed almost evey camping trip, we'd get a hitchhiker. Camper appeared 100% sealed up.....except where the power cord goes in.
Started duct taping over the hole when the cord is out. Think that solved the problem.

Time to find their entry point.

I know that with my Arctic Fox, the entire camper is sealed so there's no possibly entry points.

Every time I read one of these mouse invasion posts, I still can't help but laugh a little.

When my kids were in the 1st and second grade they were found to be incredibly talented and were invited to participate in the Odyssey of the Mind program. If you don't know what that is, look it up. It's really a great challenge and fun activity for gifted-talented kids to help them think outside the box and exercise those remarkable minds.

My wife and I ended up sponsoring the chapter from the kids school and we had about 9 kids in the group. As part of the instruction and training, we had to encourage the kids to use their minds, to literally think outside the box. One exercise that was standard at each session was to get them to sit in a circle and then ask a series of questions. The kids had to fire off answers as quickly as they could.

For example, what can you do with an umbrella? After the standard answers of, keep rain and sun off, the kids would go into over-drive .... use it as a spear to go spear fishing. Use it as a lightning rod in a thunder storm. Use it as a sword to sword fight with your brother. Use it as a poker on someones butt! The answers would get hilarious, they also stretched their minds to think of other ways to look and think about their world around them.

I'll NEVER forget when the question came up in the guide book for the parent leaders: How do you get rid of a mouse in a house?

After all the trapping methods were exhausted, it got real interesting, and one answer I'll never, never, never forget that one of those little squirts came up with that got absolutely everyone laughing so hard, the remaining time we had together was spent on just that one question. How do you get rid of a mouse in a house? The life changing answer .... even for me? was? ... "burn the house down!"

My son and daughter are now 32 and 33 years old. I still laugh when I think of that answer!
