We just purchased a 2012 forest river trailer and I left it at a buddies cabin up the mountain, but I think I left the furnace on. My question is, if I run out of gas will the furnace keep trying to light, or will it shut down after so many attempts? The trailer is plugged into 110, so the battery will not run down (bummer). I appreciate the help, since I trying to decide no t a 3 hours round trip tonight, and we weren't planning going up until Friday night.

Probably a Suburban furnace.....forest river uses them.
It will lock out AND the blower fan will continue to run until thermostat is turned off.
SO furnace fan will get a good work out until you get back to trailer
Is it time for your medication or mine?

Thanks for the advice. I guess now I will remember to put that on my pre flight check list.

You should be fine except for having to spend the $ to fill 2 propane bottles. DGS and GF used our TT for their guest house and we never thought to have them shut off the furnace during the day. Oops! Agree, you'll likely need to purge the lines and it may take the frig a couple of time to kick on. Shouldn't be anything to worry about.

Check the users manual for you fridge, if your furnace goes into lock out mode you my have to do a reset to get it going again.

If you do run out of propane you should purge the lines at the stove and HW, so you get fuel into the lines. If you don't purge the lines you might wind up with the furnace locking out again as the gas isn't getting to the furnace before the third attempt.

Maybe different on newer models(like yours) but I did about the same thing (leave heater on) but didn't recognize it till next time up to campground, which was about a month later. Heard a little clicking noise of heater trying to start. Changed to full propane bottle it heater took right off and no problems.

This also might help if you leave RV unattended for length of time.

Think hard about leaving propane bottles in on or off position. We thought off was better choice. That was until our elec went out and circuit breaker flipped off and was surprised to find frig/freezer was full rotten food. After spending most of day cleaning it out we decided to leave propane on. When the frig/freezer flipped to propane it could of went as long as batteries could go. But with propane off, frig/freezer didn't have any gas. Just FYI

We still have 1 lot there, sometimes we call it a "campground" other times a "labor camp".
