I would like to see who else still tows with higher mile gas engine trucks say over 100,000 miles. I have a Chevy 6.0 gas with 120,000 miles and am curious as to see who else is running with higher mile gas engines.

160k miles on my 2006 2500 Yukon 6.0. Runs and shifts like new. Probably rot out before anything major goes wrong.

60,000 miles on my 2011 Silverado CC 2500 HD 6.0. I should probably drive it more.

I sold my Ford Focus with 170,000 miles, used it to tow a TINY pop-up. I still see it around town. I probably shouldn’t have sold it. By far the most trouble free vehicle I have ever owned.

Most gas engines nowadays do not wear out. The rest of the vehicle has issues related to old age. If the vehicle dies because of engine problems likely it drivers fault. Back in the day, Dad bought a new car, knew that every time you put gas in it, you check all the fluid levels. Now, most hoods don't get lifted between oil changes, and everybody wants to go as long as they can between changes. A small leak, and the engine can bleed to death between oil changes. IMHO, the best thing you can do to extend the life of engine is put a locking gas cap on and solder the key to the dipstick.

117k miles on our 6.0L/6-spd combo. I expect at least double that. Check out how many HD trucks are for sale with over 200k miles. This engine is very reliable.

I have had three 5.4l's . One 2 valve and 2 3 valve engines. Combined 500,000 on the three trucks and very few problems with them. A much better engine than the internet scholars would have you believe....
My understanding is the 3 valve with the cam phaser requires clean oil for longevity. I have a 06 Ford 5.4 with the cam phasers. The other thing is keeping the coolant changed so the dissimilar metals don't start eating away.

On FTE there are quite a few people with a lot of miles on the 5.4 engine.

I religiously change the oil every 3 - 4,000 mile. Castrol 5w-20 conventional oil... With a Motorcraft filter. People tell me I am wasting my money changing oil that often. I don't think so.....

My 2005 Silverado 2500HD has 108,000 miles. I replaced a number of components by myself and plan on keeping the truck for a long time due to the cost of new trucks.

185,000 on the F 150 HD in my sig picture. I have had to put some money in it that should not be necessary in my opinion, but it has been a great truck for me other than the repairs. Prolly have to run it for another few years to well over 200K.

About 1900,000 on my Suburban before the transmission started whining and shifting funny. It's currently parked, though I'll probably just put a reman in it and keep going.

i worked for a bottled water delivery company for over 20 years. the e350 5.4 liter gas cargo vans we used always got 200 to 300k miles without major engine expenses or transmission. they didn't tow but they carried a lot of weight. the bodies would wear out from use long before the engines and tranny. we had a 7.3 liter diesel mixed in that went 300k till it became a money problem. 3 6.0 ford diesels that were money pits after 100k miles
