How are Power King tires?

I got a flat this weekend and threw my spare on. There was a tire store on the way so I had them swap out the flat with what they had in store. It was a load range D Power King Towmax STR II. Mixed reviews online as usual. Debating getting another 3 to match the replacement or 4 of a different brand all together if the Towmax is no good. Does anyone have any experience with this tire?

I tried the Power King Tow Maxes and after only a year and less that 200 miles one of them got a good size bulge and the dealer wouldn't stand behind it because I didn't buy his extended warranty, now I don't buy anything from him. I put all 4 in the garage to put on my '67 Dodge just to be able move it around when I work on it. They work for that.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I forgot what I have on there now, but they are factory bombs coming up on 4 years old now. The one that blew over the weekend I believe went flat last year on the driveway. It held air since November and traveled a couple hundred miles so I figured maybe it was a fluke or maybe I didn't have the sensor on tight and it leaked out. Either way, it must had compromised the tire or it was just time for it to go.

Luckily the sensor alerted me a couple seconds after it let go so I was able to pull over with no damage to the trailer. Figured I better change them all now since they are getting to that point.

I've acutally had good service with them on smaller trailers. (13-14 inch)
They do not seem to do well on campers.

Dang. Guess I will keep as a spare.

Good idea.
With 25 towmaster st tire complaints on NHTSA.gov complaints website and all types of trailering forums around the net they have a poor service record.
My current '97 trailer came OEM with the old style 225/75-15 D Carlisle ST radials. Dumped them on CL and went with 16" LT E tires. I kept the OEM Carlisle as a spare till a few years ago when large sidewall and tread cracks made it unusable. The tire had never been on the ground and still had new tire tits all around.
They make good spares if you have quality tires on the ground.

I had a set of them on our previous 5th wheel. 225/75 R15 D. I only had them for two years when we traded for our current TT but they lasted that long at least.
Just over three years on the Rainier ST MayPops that came on our Jayco. I watch them with nervous obscession but so far so good.
Also just over three years on my boat trailer are Carlisle Sport Trail bias ply tires. If Bias Ply has one benefit, it's that when they blow, they don't beat the trailer to death with steel belts like radials do.

You really expected someone to give them a good rating? Not on this forum.

Use the Towmax only as a spare ! They came new on my 5r and I started seeing all the bad reviews on them, so I checked mine after 4 local campouts and found a huge bubble forming on one of them. I immediately went and bought 4 Maxxis and no more tire issues since, on 2 sets of Maxxis in 10 years. I am trying the Goodyear Endurance tires at this time and hope they are as good as the Maxxis have been. Only changed because Discount tire keeps them in stock and I got a $60 rebate.

They don't call them "BlowMax" for nothing. Mine came with them but I replaced them. Larger sizes may have new tread cap system. If yours does they may be ok.
