How do myou keep your basement dry??

Lots of space between camper (2017 FWC Hawk) and sides/rail of truck (2006 Tundra) How do you keep rain or wash water out.. Know there should be a simple answer but it is beyond me at the moment. Is it safe to close off/seal that space?? Thinking Pool Noodle, Thanks

Grit Dog. My 'basement doors 9"x 10" Hardly get a lawn chair in there. Wood blocks Yep. This AM used some 1/2" pipe insulation ( 2"dia.) slicing them lenghtwise & sliding 2 together makes a nice full seal.. Top of rail has factory BedRailCover Hangs on to pool noodle very well.

We don't get a lot of rain BUT dealing with very through car washer ~ at least it will act as a reminder.

Never gets too wet on my truck, but I store stuff that doesn't matter there. Lawn chairs, wood blocks, etc.
bet something like a pool noodle would seal it up well though. Prolly have to glue it to the camper to keep it in place.

O keep my chainsaw, my farm jack and my fuel for the genny and chainsaw in there. Storage being at a premium, every space gets used.

I used it for things that I did not care if they got wet or put the things in a bag. I miss that space on my C as it was great for things that could smell or leak.

I am not worried about the water getting into the camper (2017 FWC 'Hawk' shell) Just wondering how people using them for storage kept 'em dry. Didn't sound right to me. K

When I had the Eagle on my Tundra I popped out the drain plugs in the front of the bed to keep water from pooling. I never had any water intrusion from the sliding hatch doors that you open to reach the tie downs. Even when I put the camper away for the winter that area was exposed and I never had any water or critters find a way in to the camper.

If it is raining while you are driving that area may get wet but it never got into the camper.

That is a great space to keep your shoes out of the way and to let them dry out when camped.

That's been my experience. I loved that little camper!

I though you were talking about a house. What water runs in runs out. There is only a small brook a few times a year. I guess it keeps the dust down.

My camper is essentially water-proof (all fiberglass). No worries about water between the truck bed and camper.
