How Much is too Much for an RV Park

Was just reading reviews of RV parks in Las Vegas. One park there charges $90 - $100 a night. I don't consider myself cheap by any means and I understand that Vegas is way overpriced in all areas, but there's just no way I would pay that much for an RV site anywhere. I know I'll get "flamed" for this post but curious on how other RVers feel. By the way, I've stayed in numerous RV Parks in Vegas for about half that price, some great some not so. Cheers!

+1 for Sam's Town. Free shuttle to strip or downtown.
No way would I pay $100 for LV. But if you hang out and use the amenities at the resort then good to go.

Yep I am paying 70 a night at the Grand Tetons this year.

We also pay about 80 a night at Pensacola beach RV resort.

I am not sure if I really have a limit (I am by no means loaded) but this is what I bought the trailer for getting out there an enjoying life.

Same here, we have a Colter Bay reservation at $70 something but to me it's worth it!

It's all about the diversity of us RVers. Some folks really enjoy amenities and have the means to pay for them. Others are self sufficient and the only amenities needed are a quiet place to park surrounded by nature.

We have paid as little as $12 a night for electric and water for a waterfront site and $70 for a close to the water site. For us, it all depends on where we wanna go and what we wanna see.

I paid $100 per night in the Keys and considered it a good value, rented a motor home for 14 days and payed for 10 days in the RV park and together they were less than my cancelled house rental was going to cost me for 7 days. All these folks with $50k trucks and $30k+ trailers complaining about site costs make me chuckle.

I was happy to pay $135 a night for the Disney campground. That was about $500 a night less than if we had to buy 2 hotel rooms on the property to hold all of my kids!!!

We pay close to $100 a night to get a dune site at the KOA in Hatteras. The pool, playground, and direct beach access make it worth the cost. And it is about $2500 less than a house on the beach!!

Good points,You have to consider all factors. FT. Wilderness is a Disney property and allows all camper access to the Disney Transportation system. The means you can park your car and take, free buses , boats and shuttles to many places that are also Disney Property. No parking fees as well.
I'm sure there are cheap beach CG's that are not on the beach. But then again you have to pack up everyone and everything and head to the beach, again possibly pay to park.
In many cases there are financial benefits to staying at the hi dollars places vs. the alternatives.
While I enjoy them both you can't compare Ft. Wilderness to a quiet remote $30 per night CG in WV.
Making a blanket statement that I won't pay over $30
may be OK for a CG with zero amenities in a remote area. But if you do any traveling it will hard to set a maximum figure.
Is the goal to save money or is it to enjoy decent CG's.at the market rate?

How much is too much? What one is not willing to pay. Of course what one is will or not willing to pay is totally up to the individual.

Not uncommon for us to pay $50-75/night here in WI. Now these CGs have multiple pools, water slides, playgrounds, and other amenities for kids.

Frenchman's Quarter RV Resort in New Orleans is in that realm price-wise and worth every dime. We parked, and never moved our truck for the 4 days we were there - we could walk to the French Quarter and everywhere we wanted to explore. And it was safe. Now that's worth the money spent simply in the money saved in parking in our book. Other than that, we usually prefer nat'l & state parks.

What does Disney World charge these days ?

We took the kids there over 20 years ago. I don't remember the price but I thought it was outrageous at the time. But the sites was plenty big and even had a green strip between each site. I though the rest rooms were undersized, but when I reported a malfunction in the early evening it was fixed within an hour.

Last year in March we stayed at Sam's KOA and casino in Las Vegas for $35.00 a night with our KOA discount.

No kidding, you drove in and turned right for the KOA or left for the casino parking lot.

Nice place but it was the off season for tourist travel.

Good luck
